[3.10] Sovyn's Lazy Pally - Tanky Templar with Max Block

Just curious if it would be unwise to nab the 5 points included in the pink box (attack speed and 2% block) before dumpster diving the defensive skills heading east.

I will take them on before going into ranger area. I'll probably take them before i take alot of resist nodes also. Iam an attack-speed-junkie. and with 2/4% leech attack speed helps alot.
Think it also depends on your gear, if you have decent resists you dont need extra-resist nodes until merciless. If you have a high block shield you can also go a bit slower on block-nodes.
This i the way ill go, still the goal is the same as Sovyn. i just want a bit faster leveling. But i dont play selffound, i can afford skip block-nodes until cruel, and skip resist nodes until merciless.

You can the Defence upgrade with " cast when damage taken" gem and trigger .... Molten Shell, Enduring Cry,Immortal Call, Decoy Totem ... and more.

That is a really good idea! It works really fine so far.
Atm i am using Molten shell, enduring cry and warlords mark(<-until i level up a totem)
people make mistakes, but to get real chaos, you need a computer.
I am loosely playing this guide but decided not to venture into ranger area. I will miss out on the double projectile evade, but I have blind gem attached to a spectral throw. So I am basicly blinding the entire sreen so projectiles are are barely an issue. I'm going to use all those points saved to invest into more damage nodes. Working great so far in early mercy. If any anyone is interested I can post gears and tree.

Thanks for the fast reply.. am total noob to game (not noob to diablo1/2) so lazy pally that needs no gear? Sign me up! I'm just at act 3 after talking to the gal that lives and lives and lives but I am by now am swimming in crafting mats enough to shore up any serious equipment issues like resists or outdated weapon. Any yeah , I'm an attack speed junky as well, something that transcends ARPG's =)

Oh and it'll be a while until I come to the ranger section, I would not mind at all some updated gear/trees, I have no idea when I would see a spectral throw gem drop/quest.

Edit: figured out spectral throw, just need to beat the game on normal.

So would this build be viable with Spectral throw as a Templar?

Triggers -
First Cast on Damage Taken - Leave this trigger gem at level 1. I recommend linking this with Enduring Cry and Molten Shell.
Second Cast on Damage Taken - Level this trigger gem up. I recommend linking this with Immortal Call and Increased Duration.

I dont understand this part, dunno how works cast on damage taken and which means the first or second

I just link all this gems to cast on damage taken or what? plis....

thank you

Comments: As you can see from the above data, the mara has a bit more evasion, life, strength and regen, but loses a lot of attack speed, physical damage, armour, life leech, and a little intelligence, mana, chaos resist. I'd say you would be gimping yourself. It would be very slow going with the build you suggested.
Oh well hmm spectral throw just dropped normal archive.... sort of underwhelming at level 1, was there something it needs to assist? Prolly sleep deprivation at work!

Hiyo,

just got back from a 2-3 week break after anarchy ended. I'm truly glad that the guide had been updated, followed the guide from start to finished and gained alot of HP from these new changes. I'm one of the fortunate few to be able to grab a soultaker + BoR before the changes. And I'm still using the dominating blow skillset and it capitalize on the Lazypally feel.

those newcomers who are curious, this is my gear:

Spoiler

Welcome bacl, Molochmane!

Great gear, great gear. You will be reconfiguring your gems soon I'm sure, as auras beyond two are fairly useless now. When you get some trigger gems you will be using those instead now. :) Lots of fun -- you can get endurance charges, detonate dead, frost nova, enfeeble, summon zombies, immortal call, molten shell, the list goes on -- all automatically. Better yet, depending how much you level up the trigger gem you can regulate how frequently the effects fire to get some interesting combos going, the simplest of which is mentioned in the guide.
