As i'm a slowbrain... someone just told me in game that CWDT doesn't work with enduring cry...

I'm looking into op's thread and I see that he is running CWDT + immortal call. Where is he getting the Enduring charges from ?

Endurance charges isn't point of CWDT. Even without them it gives phys invulnerability for 0.4 sec, that helps agains two consecutive attacks and gives a moment to retreat.
Daresso defiance is a strong option to gain end charges.

p.s. My dps has now climbed to, 20,103.1 - still a long way from 100k.

It would sound weird but the game isn't about DPS, it's about proper use of dps.

Hi gents and lads, i have started this nice game recently.

First of all 5L your reach
Change your helmet for Rat's nest for better DPS(if it causes frequent death put on Starkonja back, but Rat's nest is BiS and should be taken when you feeling your defence is ok)
Quiver-Drillneck for clearspeed(requires pierce nods to be taken), Signal Fire for more dps
Chest: Queen of the forest- good HP, resist pool and evasion
Daresso's efiance-medium hp and evasion, good additional dodge and endurance charges(good to be used with cwdt+IC-this combo saved a lot of donkeys)
Belly of the beast-awesome HP boost, good resistances, no evasion
Kintsugi-have no idea how efective it's bonuses are.
Gloves:Rare with HP/3 res/HP/atack speed. Atziri acquity as very expensive substitute in case if resistances are more than enough.
Belt:Rustic sash with elem damage/HP/Resistances. Immortal flesh if lacks hp.Doryani with phys damage and 3 res
Boots: Atziri step-cheap and strong option-HP/spell dodge/nice move speed and evasion. If decided playing using as many frenzy charges as possible then Blood dance or Darkray Vectors
AMulet/rings-good ways to cap resistances and add a lot of hp. Two-stone rings with HP and overall resistance 80+ nice choice, also look for Int or Str on rings if possible.
Switch gear if you can allow it without losing resistances.
Quality on flasks
Deadeye is a Glasscanon despite all def attempts you may apply. Deadeye asc is only about DPS and doesn't provide any defensive mechanics. Switch to Raider when you hit the wall dying and not able to level up. And take a look at defensive tree if you die a lot.
And don't go for Revenge of the hunted-isn't worth going there. From the Dex nod above the Acrobatics go up instead of left. Take a str nod at the bottom of the tree if needed.

it is my first arpg ever, so it was/is hard for me to get all the depth of this game.
i tried to do the best i can. i am doing lv 7-8 maps atm.
i just farmed me a council bow and my question is what kind of gear set u guys would recomend me and a overall advise on my current setup/skills/gems would be awsome.

thank you

ZeroTul gave you a decent advice above, but I'll still post my comments to give you another point of view. Due to the fact that I have a different opinion on a lot of things in this build (than ZeroTul or OP), I'll divide this in two parts. In the first part, I'll point out some major mistakes or hint at some really clear-cut things and in the second I'll give my opinion on some other things.

1) Overall you're doing pretty well for your first build, so keep it up.

Bow is nice as it is, roll is ok/decent, not a much to say there. You don't have to 5l it ASAP, because you only need 4l for curse-on hit with Reach of the Council. You better save for a better Chest and 5l the Bow after (fusings are dirt cheap in Breach, so shouldnt be an issue, really).

Following up on this topic: Buy a better chest! You can buy either an Evasion 6l with a really good life and good evasion (at least 900+) or a unique 5l, because unique chests offer more survivability (Kintsugi/Queen of the Forest/Belly of the Beast / Kaom's Heart is a matter or preference) imo. I'd go for a rare 6l and link an "increased crit. strikes" gem to hotfix your crit (more on that later).

Gloves are good and you can keep those for a while.

Starkonja is quite a decent choice (high life and some dmg). You may buy a Rat's nest eventually (because it's indeed BiS if you're playing with Reach), but it's not a must.

Boots are fine for now, you can run couple of labs for a good enchant.

belt is okish, you should opt for a rare belt (leather belt/rustic sash). You get a life+dmg comparable to meginord's + additional resists. Look for T1-T3 life, dual res and 30+ str, those aren't expensive at all.

Your rings and amulet are pretty...bad^^, because you get almost no useful stats out of them, except for some res. You should look for T1-T2 life, res, attributes and some offensive stats, for example something like
, maybe with a little bit less total res, to keep it budget. People are somehow completely forgetting about the offensive stats or bases in this thread.

Quiver: drillneck (even without a pierce gem / pierce cluster) is better than almost all rares, Signal fire offers even more dmg if you manage to get enough life on the remaining gear. I was quite puzzled. as I looked an my old char and swapped a rare quiver (much better than yours) for a vendorworthy Blackgleam - the tooltip barely changed.

Overall you'll need to get around 500 accuracy on your gear. A single piece of gear with 300+ accuracy would help a lot, to start with.

Flasks:

Get an instant (seething) Flask! There is no way without, since you aren't even running Vaal Pact! You can buy a seething divine Flask or roll one yourself. Even better, if you manage to get a good suffix like "of Staunching" or "of Grounding".

Gem setup:

You're running this PTL-WED thing and losing a lot dmg this way (no resistance penetration). Crit is another thing, you can improve on. Reach has a bad basecrit, you don't even have that much crit on the tree, , aren't generating power charges / using inc-crit strikes gem - this is too much for a crit build. You can start with linking something like Frenzy-PC on crit. Since this isnt enough, you can even think about using Assassin's mark to ensure those power charges. Another good offensive curse is elemental weakness, just pick the one granting you more dmg. You can swap temp-chains in for the lab.

Run Vaal Haste and Vaal Grace for clearspeed, damage and survivability.

Decoy totem is a nice gem to use, you can delevel it though, if you feel that you're working too hard on getting str.

Skill tree:

-I just inserted your tree - you get 141% life from it, which is too little, I'd opt for 170-180% [at lvl 90] on a build like that + some life on jewels (later). Places to get life are: Revenge of the hunted-Cluster, the AR+ES+life nodes at duelist, and the Scion wheel (takes too much time for now).

-you can respec out or 4 barely useful points (mana + 3 mana leech nodes) to get the full duelist leech cluster (1x mana+life leech, 3x life leech).

- the connection in the shadow area isn't great for now, as ZeroTul pointed out earlier. You can respec of it now and get something useful or wait and get the life+evasion cluster, that's your choice.

- You need to get the 2-point jewel in the duelist area and the Heartseeker-Cluster (its so much dmg..). You may even sacrifice a frenzy charge or two for that.

Well that's already a pretty long post, so I'll skip the 2. point for now (like different gem setups / Phase acro / Atziri boots). Looks like a lot of criticism, but I feel that you're kind of in a disadvantage by using this setup already [it's still a great writeup and overview, just not up to date] - so I wanted to help you cutting your losses, so to speak ;)

That must be overwhelming for him with these 2 wall of texts. Will try to generalize and point out core things:
1. Defense is always top priority in POE. Don't sacrifice even 5 res for dps. Res cap is a must, hp pool at least 4k-a bare minimum-, 5 k with good gear and proper tree.
2. Experiment within your budget. The best experience is gained by yourself. Can't afford smth-ask on forum.
3. 4l is ok for leveling, 5L good for progression, 6L good for everything. Don't chase 6L until you can afford it. Download and install any lootfilter to your taste. It will highlight items good for chancing.
4. Try keeping as little useless stats on your gear as possible. Every affix should serve you.
5. Usual mistake of many-Uniques are not OP-don't gear yourself fully in uniques unless combination of uniques gives you superpowers an keeps you alive.
6. Use rings and amulets to get required stats/resistances. Switch to more offensive jewelry when your stats and res-s are overcapped.
7. Signal fire+PTL totally converts your damage to elemental. Take a good phys quiver with you and carry Critical strike chance gem with you to switch on bosses since all of them are elemental resistant.
8. Since TS is both AOE and solo target you can use freed sockets for vaal skills-Vaal grace, Vaal haste(these two recomended),Vaal rain of arrow and Vaal skeletons(good option on bosses to distract them or nail to the ground.)
9. Use 1 4L as a defensive mechanism CWDT+Immortal call+ID+Vortex(temporal chains or anything that can save you life)

I have a question that may have already been answered, but I could not find a satisfying one.
What exactly is the bennefit of Slower Projectile Support when using TS compared to all the other good choices?

It gives more pure dps comparing to other options.

Hey again guys :D

I changed some of my items, went for a 5L Lion's Glare instead of my old 6L Infractem...

I have a lot of res... more than enough, even if I remove my body armour I still have the 75 cap.

My question is, would it be a crazy idea to buy a 6L body armour with Life & evasion only ? no res (since I don't need them) to get a cheaper one ?

Or maybe get the res on body armour and switch gloves or boots to a unique ?

Also about the CWDT setup... Should we level up our CWDT ? (mine is currently 18)

I see OP has CWDT(lvl 7) + IC + Vaal haste (lvl 20), that means that the CWDT only casts the IC right ? or does it also applies to the vaal haste ? (is the link important here ?).

My current playstyle is (tier: 8 maps) :

Before entering a map : hatred & herald of ice & ice golem
Once in map I start with blood rage, cast my Elemental weakness on mobs... sometimes siege balista...

When I'm focused trashes aren't a problem. Bosses are... My siege balista is way too weak same goes for the golem... they get killed pretty fast, if I'm against a mob that has adds(or even no adds), the time I cast a siege balista is enough for me to get 1 shot or that gives time for the boss to fill the room with adds and then I struggle to clear everything.

Do you guys see any mistake in my playstyle ?

Thx :)

So ur Skill tree works for lightning arrow too right? And i can switch between light arrow and tornado etc?

Nice guide btw^^

Armour can't provide you with decent offensive properties so stick to a good rare armour with life and res-s. On other hand rare gloves and unique gloves can give you a decent boost of damage. If you sacrifice overcapped res-s for additional dps it's better to take gloves with attack speed or unique Maligaro's Virtuosity, shadow and dust, atziri acuity(last two hard to get)

"

No need to lvl it up to 20 since it requires a lot of str and additional lvl bring too little use.
Keep it lower your str attribute

Vaal skills can't be triggered via CWDT. In this case vaal haste is here just because OP had a free socket.

"

Hatred + Herald of ash. Overkill damage spreads on nearest monsters and burn them a lot.

"

Find a good way to spread curse. Drillneck is good here since pierce spreads curse better. Lightning arrow is a choice to spread a curse if drillneck isn't available. Cast bloodrage just before the fight to compensate HP degradation

Foget about SB and golem. Golem is a good choice if you have free sockets and they usually serve to distract enemy/tank few seconds, but mostly useless since it die instantly.
Your task on boss to survive through CWDT combo, flasks, unique mechanics on gear, mobility, vaal skills.

I usually the following way when enter boss room:
Hatred+HoA as buffs
Shoot my frenzy+CoH+AM+GMP to get frenzy charges and curse boss, summon vaal skeletons-> vaal grace-> vaal haste + damage flasks+ BR and then goes burst. Usually this combo is enough to kill the boss or deal more then half of his HP pool damage.

Holy :D 3 shots of Tornado and out of Mana. Is this because i am lvl62?
