I've read through this build a few times now and it has always certainly caught my eye as it sounded to be pretty survivable and should be possible to level up solo self found. I'm interested in giving it a try and was considering doing a little practice run and then giving it a go for real during the 48 hour flashback solo race.
I saw that the defensive build was recommended for HC characters. However I'm not really sure what I should be prioritizing in terms of leveling and was hoping for some suggestions. At the moment I've got something like this: 24 points: Starting out in the ranger area - pick up notable nodes and move towards Acrobatics. http://poedb.tw/us/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAIAAQBeCC4IiRmOI_YwfE2SUUdW-l1ofXV_K419jb-VBZrxm43KqdN-1CPtg-4O73r-ug== 41 points: Since we skipped many of the damage nodes in ranger move to shadow to increase damage, attack speed and pick up some more life. http://poedb.tw/us/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAIAAQBeBbUILgiJES8WvxmOI_YmlTB8Nj1NklFHVUtW-l1oYeJirGyMdf19dX8rhG-NfY2_lQWa8ZuNnaq0xbVIwuzKqdN-1CPUQutj7YPuDu96_ro= 58 points: Pick up life, damage, and evasion from Duelist. http://poedb.tw/us/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAIAAABeBS0FtQguCIkRLxUgFr8Zjhm0I_YmlS2DMHw2PUMxR35NklFHVUtW-l1oYeJirGVNbIx07XXLdf167311fyuEb419jX6Nv5UFmvGbjZ2qtMW1SL02vqfC7MqpzZjTftQj1ELawepi62Ptg-4O73r2o_66 74 points: Pick up the crit nodes we passed along the way. Minor respec for 2 points to set up for vitality void in the future while we move to get King of the Hill. http://poedb.tw/us/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAIAAQBeBS0FtQguCIkRLxUgFr8ZjiF2I_Yk_SaVKgswfDH6Nj051EMxR35M_02STipRR1VLVvpbr11oYeJirGVNbIxwUnTtdct1_Xb3eu99dX8rhG-GzonTjDaNfY1-jb-VBZrxm42dqqCftMW1SL02vqfBM8LsyqnNmNN-1CPUQtrB3Q3nVOpi62Ptg-4O73r2o_66_94= 88 points: Pick up the frenzy charges, phase acrobatics and thick skin. http://poedb.tw/us/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAIAAABeBS0FtQguCIkNjREvFSAWvxmOIXYj9iT9JpUqCzBxMHwx-jY9OdQ6Qj7PQzFHfkp9S3hM_02STipRR1VLVYVW-loaW69daGHiYqxlTWyMcFJ07XXLdf1293rvfXV_K4Rvhs6HdonTjDaNfY1-jb-VBZrxm42dqqCfpcu0xbVIvTa95r6nwTPC7MMzyqnNmNN-1CPUQtrB3Q3dqOOf51TqYutj7YPuDu969qP-uv_e 117 points: Fill out the remainder of the build, picking up jewels and life nodes. http://poedb.tw/us/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAIAAQBeAO4FLQW1CC4IiQ2NES8VIBa_GY4hdiLiI9Mj9iT9JpUqCypNLOkuUzBxMHwx-jWSNj031DnUOkI64T7PPydDMUd-R-JKfUrIS3hM_02STeNOKlFHU7tVS1WFVvpaGluvXWhh4mKsZU1sjG6qbydwUnTtdct1_Xb3eu99dX8rhG-Gs4bOh3aJ04w2jX2Nfo2_j2CVBZpqmvGbjZ2qoJ-kOaXLple0xbVItfK9Nr3mvqe_1cEzwuzDM8qpzZjTb9N-1CPUQti92sHdDd2o45_nVOpi62PtP-2D7g7vevJF9qP-Cv6P_rr_3g== One of the things I wasn't sure about was if I should be doing ranger/duelist, or ranger/shadow at the start. An alternative 41 could have been: http://poedb.tw/us/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAIAAABeBS0ILgiJFSAZjhm0I_YtgzB8QzFHfk2SUUdW-l1oZU107XXLeu99dX8rjX2Nfo2_lQWa8ZuNvTa-p8qpzZjTftQj2sHqYu2D7g7vevaj_ro= What do you think? Pretty good as for HC survival.
In your full build i would rather get rid of life and mana leech(get it on your gear) Also try reaching aspect of Eagle. You may experience lack of accuracy otherwise or get Lioneye's Glare bow. |
Unless monsters are twice as strong in HC, I wouldn't spend half my skillpoints in ways to life nodes all over the skill tree. Movement speed, knockback and dps are also important defensive factors. King of the Hill is awesome and you can take Thick Skin and Survivalist instead of Bravery and Golem's Blood. That should leave room for some more interesting nodes.

Enjoying your build! What to upgrade next? Are my links okay or should i really place a PTL+Weapon ele damage? |

which class is to use the best for over atziri
" Atziri kill isn't about the class, but about the build and skill. |
" I recomment to replace you "Slower Projectiles Support" at least with the "Culling Strike Support": Slower Projectiles Support: (30 to 49)% less Projectile Speed (20 to 29)% more Projectile Damage Culling Strike Support: (0 to 38)% increased Damage Kills Enemies on 10% Life or less when hit by supported Skills More damage without Projectile Speed penalty + you will instantly kill enemies with <10% of life. |
More Damage is different from Increased Damage, and almost always worth about 3% increased damage per 1% more... so don't get rid of the slower projectiles for the damage...

Hello. Thanks a lot for creating the guide. This is so far the most enjoyable build I've played.
How do I know when I'm Atziri-ready? I'm a newbie, haven't ever tried it and this will most likely be the build for me to do so. My IGN is NevanOnceAgain, if you want to check my gear. Last edited by xnevann#6320 on Aug 6, 2016, 7:27:52 PM
