I know you can take the jewel in/out of the tree, but the quest reward offers you to pick the jewel itself.

You have the option to pick only 1 of the 3 jewels as a reward:

+10% physical damage / +50 armor
+6% resist all / +20 dex
+10% elemental damage / something else I forgot

Thanks for the updated progression tree! Glad I sticked to nearly the same nodes. I was afraid of the skill tree in this game but once you start playing is pretty intuitive.

My Gear, if it means anything

Phys-to-Lightning synergises very well with WED (Weapon Ele. Damage). So if you want to use PtL, i'd say swap out your Faster Attacks gem for WED. You'll notice quite a big damage increase that way. Not just tooltip, because you now apply shoock, so actual damage is higher.

Just experiment, and see what you like best. There is no 'Ultimate' solution here. All depends on play-style. Don't like it? Just swap back the gems.

It's been a while since I dabbled in LA rangers, but is shock still largely useless vs bosses given the shock threshold is never met vs bosses?
