Ran about half with purity of lightning, because that's the bulk of my elemental damage. Died. Ran the other half with purity of elements and still ended up dying.

a pretty big breakthrough imo, is that we can use curse on hit with herald of ice without increasing any mana reservation, and still fit all our gems.



Going to try various curses to see which one i like best. I know for a fact that with assassins mark you can get power charges extremely easily but for single target you will end up losing them.

Oh and it seems using a 4th enlighten that is level 3 doesnt make any difference in mana reservation for a single herald o_O.

Currently hesitating between 167k gmp dps with 3 frenzy charges, or assassin's mark which probably gives an insane amount of actual dps, just not shown on tooltip.

Did a phys ref map with 167k gmp dps and it went fine.

For single target a self cast assassin's should work.
The only dps boost that doesn't touch ur survivabilty to reflected damage beside Added Chaos is Faster Attack. If using Ice for charges I'd recommend FA because it also means faster getting Power Charges.
Alternatively u slot Increased Critical Strike chance instead of PCoC and get free points which u could use to get 7k+ ES again, I think 3 Power Charges are enough with ICS in ur 6L ;)

I'm pretty sure I can handle 18% phys reflect easily, I'll upload a vid of doing a 15% phys ref / no regen map and I was not using flasks on purpose. I am more scared of elemental reflect now, with 167k gmp dps with life leech gem. Taking out WED for elemental ref maps and putting something else should make it safer, but I don't want added fire damage as I prefer to concentrate on lightning damage because I can only have 1 resist flask and I prefer a topaz.

I'll stick with poacher's mark for curse, because it gives frenzy charges, basically guarantees I almost never miss because it makes mobs have like 50% less evasion and also gives me 25 life on hit which is pretty insane in itself. I feel I would have too much dps if I used assassin's mark instead, 40% more crit damage is crazy and would most likely cause me to rip against any reflect.

The more modifier from frenzy charges is insane, only 3 frenzy charges and they give me 26k gmp dps.

life on hit does not affect ur ES, so it's useless, while literally 100% chance to hit does affect ur reflected damage, also it makes - like u already said - ele reflect pretty uncomfortable because ur doing too much burst damage. Personally I would take assassins mark and ICS, u don't need to grab extra charges from the tree and bandit and u can drop some crit damage nodes as well. while keeping u safe at same dps u can grab IAS from bandit and I'm sure this would be the smoothest way to clear maps in no time with no risk and no swapping gems. On top u get a bunch of extra ES which u don't wanna miss in extra high lvl maps...

I'm BM remember? :P life on hit is to make casting attacks much smoother, no need to spam flasks, and we have unwavering stance so we already can't evade reflected damage, so it doesn't matter if we have close to 100% hit chance. I guarantee you that it's more dangerous with assassin's mark than with poacher's mark, the damage increase from the curse is just too much, 40% more damage from crits will insta rip you, but i need to test it before being 100% sure.

You can also often roll maps with "mobs are immune to curse" mod, meaning you would have to pop back pcoc in the 6L and possibly recolour an item to fit another curse. I wouldn't want to rely on curse on hit to generate power charges tbh, you also get wand damage and spell damage per power charge, so having as many as possible gives nice dps boost as well. when playing high leveld rotations there is no certainty that you will kill all mobs if you play with similarly geared players, so it becomes even more of a dick measuring contest to see who kills more stuff.

Also, the mana on hit from pochaer's mark might be nice for mana users too.

a couple of questions:

I dont understand what does curse on hit and herald have in common and how does it affect reservation?

2) Im currently sitting on 5 auras (Hatred, Discipline, Wrath, Haste and Herald of Ash), 230 unreserved life, still missing champion of the cause cluster (so that will be 4% reduce reserve). I cant get lvl 4 enlightens atm with those stupid prices, so using just lvl 3... you think its possible to run 1 more herald like that in the future, or the lvl 4 enlighten is absolutely necessary?

With 100% hit and reflect I just meant that every fking hit is being reflected simultaneously, not ur own chance to evade ofc.

'no curse' mod is indeed sucking as hell, but I'm pretty sure ppl gonna reroll because everybody is cursing around with Ice and most of them will try to get power charges, but maybe it's a bit different on SC

anyway, overwriting curses might be an issue, a bigger one if u rely on assassins

What I meant is that curse on hit doesn't have a mana multiplier so we can have a free curse, meaning also increased damage, at the cost of only 2 sockets in our gear, and I just happened to have 2-3 sockets that I didn't know what to do with.

Another interesting thing is that I am using a level 3 enlighten for herald of ice instead of level 4, and I still have 267 unreserved mana, same thing as when I using a level 4. So it is possible that for herald, when using blood magic, the difference between level 3 and 4 enlighten is so small that it rounds to the same number. If you want we can test ingame.

@Lawyne: I just did a level 80 courtyard with 18% phys reflect and died at the start, but managed to clear the rest without many problems. It seems the frenzy charges are icnreasing my phys damage a bit too much to handle 18% reflect safely. I think If I really wanted to never die, I would choose warlord's mark as a curse for the life leech and endurance charges.
