Seems like this was finally fixed with patch 1.0.5 / Race Season 6. Thanks for that!

" It got mentioned in the 1 week dom/nem event thread and had a dev reply within a day or so. Hard to believe that not a single dev read this thread in the past month+ though. Other threads here get responses within days, so apparently it just wasnt considered an important issue. The thread about descent being randomly absent from this season appears to be getting the same noticable lack of response. IGN: KoTao
