does this build can be used for a duellist in your opinion ? i'm a beginner and i'd like to use it but i'm not really a fan of the ranger :/

ty for the answer btw

Yes ofc, you can start Duelist and connect to the Vaal Pact tree. Or you can do Scion and connect to Ranger's start using Ascendant's path of ranger. Can do Shadow too.

I recommend doing Scion so you can still get the Ascendent raider frenzy bonuses, otherwise you will not have a reliable way to get frenzy charges (eg Duelist) so that you will have to unspec the frenzy charges and this is quite a DPS hit, but plus side ofc is you can get Duelist's bonuses like Slayer leech
Absolutely loving the 2x shotgun with ancestral call on single target.
This is the one moment when lioneyes roar buffs lightning strike, e.g. pushes melee enemies out of melee range into sweet spot where projectiles from your character overlap with the ancestral call’s melee hit, essentially 2x shotgun

Is there any difference between opal ring and just ring with WED? For example I have 2 rings with 36 WED, that's better than opal without WED right?

Yes that's true, but Opal has the % ele damage implicit and can also roll WED explicit - so total % Inc ele damage will be higher than other rings if you do this. It's also easier to craft IMO as you can just focus on getting the other mods since you will already have some % Inc ele damage. But if you have some other rings with good wed rolls there is no need to change

And what about increased lightning damage? Isn't it about the same as WED for us, since we do almost only lightning damage?
What's the target crit chance and multi? I feel like I'm not killing stuff fast enough. Is it ok to replace damage on full life for inc crits? Or is that too much of a damage loss
Really enjoying the build so far, however, this is my first ever PoE character so I was hoping you could shed some light on what I should focus on upgrading first. I've only done t1-5 maps and clearing mobs is extremely easy, but my single target DPS on bosses seems low. Also, I feel very squishy but that might be due to poor mechanics and being new to the game/EV style builds.

Currently at 3.1k hp which is low I believe.

Thank you for the hard work making this build, and thanks for the help!

Ahh, nice setup. I'll try it again like this. You are playing more in melee range I guess?

Yes that's right it's about the same since we are nearly all lightning.

Your kit is good bud, why do you say your DPS feels low? You have good crit chance and good crit multiplier. Rat's Nest and Lycosidae is a lot of damage using both together. You can put your character in PoB and compare to mine. I took a quick look and your DPS is good - if you are playing more T14s and below try use Light Pen instead of Ele Focus. Also I would swap your Vinktar for Atziri's Flask.

Vinktar's is only 1 use per fill while you can get 2 per Atziri's flask and Atziri's flask will also give you a little higher DPS than that Vinktar.

You can then unspec Avatar of Veil (unless you like it for more defense) and spec Chase.

Thanks bud, you have nice belt, helm and Abyss jewel but you need to upgrade quite a few things:

DAMAGE:
Gems and Links
- I don't see Wrath - this is big damage source (see HoT fix below on Thunderfists which should give you more mana to add Wrath)
- Please you don't have to use Ele Focus if you are on low tier maps - please see my notes on shock; use Light Pen gem instead of Ele Focus so you can shock these mobs and get higher damage
- Upgrade to 5 or 6 link if you can and add the other damage supports

Tree
- Get your 2nd ascension: Chase or Veil
- Get Adder's Touch - it is a big crit multi node for daggers but you skipped it
- Get some jewels with damage, Survival Secrets is OK but not that great

Gear
- Need another ring with good flat lightning and % inc. ele damage if you can
- Need an amulet if you can with flat lightning as well, or Choir of the Storm
- Need a shield with either life and res, or Lycosidae as a damage shield if you can get one

DEFENSE:
Tree:
- Get Phase Acro ASAP. Spells are a big weakness for EV builds. If you find yourself taking a lot of damage and/or getting hit consecutively by something - you are most likely dealing with spell damage
- Looks like you haven't taken any jewels on the tree - we get 5 sockets so you can load up with quite a few jewels with life / res / damage
- You have rushed to take too much damage on tree instead of life xD. Throatseeker should be gotten very late as it takes quite a few points, you should put those points into life first

Gems and Links:
- Put one or two Vaal Grace in your kit please - turn them on when you get to fight bosses
- Put a CWDT setup - you can use an offensive curse like Projectile Weakness, or something like Temp Chains / Enfeeble if you want more defense
- Put Fortify link to your Whirling Blades, might help a little

Gear:
- Shield upgrade to life, EV, res, or Lycosidae if you can find one
- Gloves - if you can upgrade to Tombfist, this would give you more life and damage

FLASKS:
- You don't really need a mana flask. Take off Herald of Thunder from Thunderfists and put it somewhere else which will give you more mana - by putting it in Thunderfist you are allocating the Added Lightning support to HoT beams which is increasing its mana reserve significantly
- Don't need 3 life flasks bud: put a Silver flask / Wise Oak (check your light res is the highest) / Atziri's Promise. Please use Divine flask with instant recovery prefix (Seething) and Eternal life flask for life recovery over time (particularly Catalyzed or Cautious prefix)
Reason I recommend this is because the base differences:
Divine: 2,400 life over 7s = 343 life/s
Eternal: 2,080 life over 4s = 520 life/s
So you roll Divines with instant life recovery since it has bigger lfie amount (2,400 vs. 2,080), but for regaining life over time Eternal gives you faster life per sec.

That's all I can think of atm, hope this helps...
