That's.....an interesting take.

It's probably the single most restrictive league mechanic the game currently has available to play. Especially if you intend to use it for any type of profit.

I would even argue that Simulacrums to full waves is easier and more accessible to a broader range of builds than Ultimatum.

ultimatums are what they are - ramping challenges and it is on the player to bail out when in danger. even my most successful GG farmer failed a few due to Ruin bypassing the block despite there being less than 1% chance of failure. it happens

as to actually dying, unless you omegaroll your maps (+map mod effect) and do not accidentally missclick a build bricking mod - i find it strange

my strategy for ultimatums was always CC: stuns, freezes, hinders/maims, chills, even knockback. anything to prevent mobs from hitting me. and that actually works wonders - unless your mods turns that off (cannot be stunned/immune to ailments)

i did that on seriously bad builds, <10d builds, and completed most of them. sure, i had to bail from time to time, but hey, if i hit a great corrupt item i bail anyway

im not sure how exactly map mods affect ulti rewards, but i run a lot of them white. catalysts (stack size) for sure are affected but i have a feeling it is only them. and with typical farming method (scarabs: all rounds reward catalysts + all catalysts>inscribeds + extra rounds if crazy brave) i didnt see a notable difference (as i also done many regular rare maps)

but a regular, in-map ultimatum on a map with some margin of safety (that is you dont start with -max, extra as everything, ailment immune etc bs) - i havent died to that in YEARS. how would anyone die to that?

ulti scales with waves, base 10 waves is walk in the park. extra toughness and damage kick in from wave 11 - so if you dont use scarabs youll be fine. Grueling Gauntles is ONLY for ~2 builds out there, and these people know what they are doing

i honestly dont understand how anyone could die to regular ultimatum - aka wild spawn. you could fail it - if you get 'ruin with special ability' + linked spiders you fail no matter what. but die? cmon, get some defences


They already did by adding cannot block ultimatum node, now you want it nerfed more?
Feels like it just got shadow nerfed, I'm getting WAY less div / map on average.

yep OP got his wish, so GGG just listen to players now and nerf it for everyone, now its back to deli orb farming.
The "new" feared IS AWFUL now and it's absolute unrewarding as shit.

Ultimatum has it's own niche build like sanctum. But calling to nerf more without actual compensation is horrible.

This says nothing about.
Just like i can say - Im closed 300x Feared in Keepeers and like 150x atm in Mirage - and i feel like drops are worse than ever - 0x Mirrors, and orb of dominance/Awakeners Orb rare as F from the feared - it should drop every 1 out 2x runs if not every run, but not like a single orb in 10-15x Runs.

Without orbs drops, and without Bottled Faith/Wine of the prophet which also not drop a single time in 100+ Kills - there's no any rewarding loot at all.

Same huge amount of Divs Inscribes, like 10x maps gives 60-70 Divs profit - that's crazy AF(there's no currently any other farm strat in-game that gives such amount of raw Divines for minimal investment - Harvest Juice,Kalguur ores, Simulacrums, Alva temples, Strongboxes, Rituals - no way near this broken Ulti's farm), mirrorred inscribes drops same often - every dude who farmed Ulti in this league for 7+ days got this Mirror ulti at least once lol.

The dudes who's farming that non-stop got 2-3x+ Mirror inscribes - that's not normal for that minimal investment that ulti farm requires (2x Bribing, and 1x Catalysing,1x Inscription,Mirage map).

Stop crying, should they nerf strongboxes and breach too? or maybe even remove all game mechanics and base the currency farming on raw drop?



Just l2p and you'll get some currency. Dont ya worry everyone started playing poe at some point and was struggling to get currency but it's not reason for cryin about it.

OP clearly have never played ultimatum before and only watch streamer gets lucky 20+ div drop in one map. The reality is, the strat relies on RNG pretty heavily, you could get 16 div in one map (which require proccing the 25% dupe), or, not get a single div for the next 6-7 map.

Not only that, inscribed ultimatum that says 8 div isn't exactly worth 8 div. Some of them are near impossible / super hard to do. Take for example stand in stone circle that have 4 ruin and shattered shield, you can see that it is listed on the trade site for 1 div and it still doesnt sell for good reason. There is also a huge risk where if u fail, u lose all of that divine, mind you if u lose 8div inscribed ultimatum, u actually lost 16div, and there are plenty of cause for failing it like crash, dc, or some random rare monster that have insane modifier that oneshot you. I have 1 mirror+ gladiator (5.2k hp, max suppress, 97% block, 17k eva, 7 endurance charges, ailment immune, curse immune) and still experience these occasional oneshot.
