Ground loot still sucks

I don't know why GGG thought that by increasing currency drops that ground loot would be fixed, it isn't

If the average player drops X amount of currency per hour
Increasing that currency by double from non-tile loot drops does not solve ground loot
It devalues the currency

Scarabs are still the main end game loot
Tile loot is still the main source of good drops
Currency feels identical to last league
Drops feel identical to last league

99.99% of loot that drops from mobs needs to be hidden
Identifying rare items is tedious and for some reason only Helena can id from hideout not Lilly or Faustus

You guys said you wanted feedback if ground loot was bad, yup its basically unchanged since last league

If you want to improve ground loot there are many ways to do it and you guys have done none of them

Here are the significant changes that would impact ground loot

#1 - Magic items now drop identified ( this gives people the ability to filter for specific bases and gives magic items a place in this game, where currently all players hide magic items because they are essentially never worth looting unless its a specific base in which case being magic/normal is irrelevant )

#2 - Rare items should be well rolled and less common from higher tier content
( this allows players to actually be happy to loot rare items in mapping rather than filtering 99.99% of them. Rares should actually be rare and be well rolled with the highest tier maps having minimum mod tiers so you are likely to id a rare item with at least 1 or 2 high tier mods. Idk why GGG thinks people want to loot 1000 different rare items, identify and check each and every one to find a few decent items... That's the opposite of fun )

#3 - Modifiers on rares should impact loot. I can't tell you how many giga juiced mobs have dropped basically nothing. Difficulty still does not equate to loot value in POE. It hasn't in a long time... This change would change the meta and incentivize super juiced boss-style mobs rather than clearing hundreds of mobs with 1 click.

#4 - Complete overhaul of like 90% of unique items. Currently almost all of them are completely worthless and not even useable for leveling or any kind of build. There are way too many useless garbage uniques and they just have no purpose besides being hidden on our loot filters or being forced to be seen because they share a base type with a decent item. I would much rather see less uniques drop and have them be more rewarding. I will see 1000 unique items that are vendor trash before I get a single one im happy to pick up... if that... Unique items mostly suck

There are many different systems GGG could come up with, but yea ground loot sucks and to me feels identical to last league

100% agree

This is POE. Useful wearable items dropping ON THE GROUND are not allowed. This includes 99%+ of unique items. Go do your 20 steps of gambling known as "crafting".

Hopefully in the near future the devs will remove all wearable item drops and just put them on a vendor to be purchased with currency.
lol
GGG has always been behind the times... they artificially increase currency drops to boost the acquisition rate through the market, basically continuing to bury their own game. There will always be people to play, just like from the beginning, but some games already do a much better job in every aspect, and with the same amount of league playtime for far more completion, and contrary to what some say, it's not any easier. When you consider that the majority of crafting items are traded between players, it means there's a huge problem at the core. They know it, we know it, they'll never change anything no matter what, and adding crafting mechanics to an already broken system will only make the problem worse...
Tell me the games which are doing it way better and im out as fast as I can.

So much bugs after 13 years is a clear sign for me to leave at least poe 1, while watching how poe 2 goes.
I actually just posted an idea about crafting incubators that would make ground loot interesting even in endgame trade leagues.

Love to have some feedback on this.

I see the complaints about gambling crafting systems are unrelenting. Good.
Now, how to get the devs to read them?
Ground loot sucks by design. GGG wants you to engage in gambling "crafting", because they've chosen it as the game's currency sink. If ground loot was good, what incentive would you or anyone have to "craft" anything?
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

The others found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on juice. I am not so foolish.
You're playing a currency simulator, not an ARPG. If you want to play an ARPG go try D3, D4, Last Epoch, Grim Dawn, Titan Quest, etc. Even D2 has way better WEARABLE ground loot than POE1 because it has an assortment of unique items that aren't a joke for 99%+ of builds.

Yes it's gambling, straight up gambling, and the currency sink argument could still be valid with waaaaaaay less RNG involved in this gambling.

And the argument for "good" ground loot is vague. How about "decent" ground loot? How about ground loot where the average T16 rare weapon drop is NOT:

- 10% increased global accuracy
- +4-8 fire damage
- +3 life on kill
- 10% increased physical damage

These drops exist solely to convince you that you're still playing an ARPG. You are not. From its antiquity ARPGs have prided themselves on a WEARABLE loot hunt, and neither POE1 nor POE2 has that.

Both POE1 and POE2 are great for build customization and combat, but in the player power reward systems they are atrocious.

What kind of psychopath actually wants to pick up a bunch of rares off the ground? Good currency drops IS good ground loot. Other than that, you just need good high level bases to craft on, which already drop in overabundance.
PSA: Saying what the Templars and those in their employ did to the Karui, as seen and mentioned throughout the actual game, is apparently forbidden. Do NOT discuss in-game events or lore, or pass any kind of value judgments on in-game characters or their actions.

The ones who want to play an ARPG, unless we're not playing an ARPG, because we are not.
