WTB 1 divine. Offer 265,000c. 3.28 inflation league?
|
Anyone else worried about how GGG just scrapped two of the main sources of chaos sink with t17 rolling and the map device gone? Outside of some craft recipes, map rolling convenience and cluster spamming there is not a lot of value in chaos in 3.28. Without a reliable and widely used reason to dump chaos, I'm afraid its value tanks shortly into the league and we run into a poe2 exalt situation. Instead of a standard 150c to a divine a few weeks in to the league it could spike to hundreds of chaos and potentially not even listed because it has no value. Without a relatively stable intermediate currency the wealth gap exponentially grows and it becomes harder for the average player to "feel" as though they can get ahead in the economy to be able to make meaningful purchases. Similarly, the time they play "feels" less valuable because they are not making gains. If that "feeling" becomes pervasive, does that mean we're in for rapid player drop off as the inflation hits and the only mirage are the players who used to be online?

ratio was fine before T17s got introduced so idk how much of an Impact that is.
Curious what are actually the biggest chaos sinks, when i think about it, i never really use chaos orbs except as a trading currency and for map device Last edited by Rikku#7536 on Feb 28, 2026, 2:26:18 PM

It's gonna be fine. Fortunately, this game is not just trade economy. I would be more focused on what build to play and worry about the economy afterwards when you cleared the atlas and have all voidstones.
And, if you can't buy your items for 25 c because the chaos orb is worth nothing maybe it is finally time to use those fancy things called essences, juice and fossils yourself, who knows maybe you can even sell an item for "265,000C", which you crafted ;P Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Feb 28, 2026, 10:06:43 AM

I spammed hundreds of chaos on some clusters, I'm not really worried about not having a use for them :D

Your hyperbole is inflated, that's for sure.

" Good for you now that ground loot is buffed. Hoho happy clicking exile while i farm my mirrurs. Still sane exile?

" I remember chaos to divine being 200-300+ pre-T17. T17 added a chaos sink which stabilized the chaos 3.24 and beyond |

If that's the case then we won't use chaos orbs as a standard trade currency. there's a dozen other different orbs that can take it's place. exalts, anulls, veiled, stacked deck, scours/regrets, vaal, etc

" None of the ones you mentioned truly hold substantial value. They already sit well below Chaos Orbs in practical worth, so I do not see those currencies realistically emerging as viable replacements for trading standards. Aside from Annulment Orbs and Veiled Orbs, which do sit above Chaos in value, there is little that meaningfully competes. Even so, those two currencies drop far too infrequently to function as a widespread trading standard. Their applications are also too narrow and specialized to support the kind of broad, everyday liquidity required of a primary trade currency. The only currency with consistent, practical utility is the Exalted Orb. However, since its drop rate is roughly comparable to that of Divine Orbs, it is far too scarce to assume the role that Chaos Orbs currently occupy, particularly given how abundantly Chaos Orbs enter the economy. Chaos Orbs will remain the backbone of trade. Their exchange rate may fluctuate depending on the relative value and availability of Divine Orbs during a league. If Divine Orbs become exceptionally common, their price may settle at only a few Chaos. If they drop at a more typical rate, their value will likely stabilize somewhat higher, perhaps closer to what players have previously been accustomed to. In either case, Chaos Orbs will continue to function as the everyday transactional currency for items valued below a Divine Orb, maintaining their position as the fundamental unit of trade. " There will be more exalted orbs around next league. From the loot buff which includes more item drops being currency but also in the patch notes they mentioned exalted aswell as regals being more common now among currency drops. Of course we have to wait and see if there will be any meaningful difference. But it's not like most of us don't know the exalted orb as a trade commodity, hehe Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Feb 28, 2026, 6:59:43 PM
