In-game price checking QOL from PoE 2 for 3.29
" You are also not using it? Jeez, they probably really should add their own price checking solution if people playing for years are not using any. I thought everyone uses it, but obviously i was wrong. Well definitely everyone from those i know. |

" The amount of people I saw banned over the years for using external tools (even awakened poe back in the day) made me avoid these like a plague. I would rather not risk it. We miss you, bald man.

I am pretty sure this one in particular is definitely tolerated by ggg and probably even welcomed. I get if you use some fishy addons like some scripts for auto rolling or whatever it is bannable, but awakened poe uses really every person i know, plus every streamer out there is price checking with it on stream. But would be actually nice to have official stand on this from ggg so people are not afraid to use it untill (or if at all) they come up with their own tool.

" If you care about your account it's probably best to avoid using 3rd party tools. My 2c for what it's worth. Also, loot filters are not 3rd party tools, it's a game feature that allows anyone to make and share custom filters. Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

I just tried to do some google search if it is safe to use this particular addon and everyone should do the same before they decide. I am for sure gonna keep using it as i can't imagine playing without it.
But i should probably stop pushing for it so publicly here too... xD And if they are 100% ok with people using this, they should really make it also officially known to prevent any uncertainty. Thx GGG! Last edited by BadAssTom#2893 on Feb 20, 2026, 7:49:16 AM

" That would still happen if price checking happened in game because it's simply not possible to accurately give a price in a lot of cases. |
|
" I mean, that's fine. All I want is to see all items similar to mine that are already listed/recently sold. So I know what price to set it at, and if it doesn't sell I keep undercutting till it does sell or I get bored enough and vendor it. I'm not waiting an entire day to sell an item, I just keep bringing the price down until somebody buys it now. Lifelong NEET, loud and proud about it.
Found a way to hide any comment on the forums, my experience with using them is instantly 1000x better lemao |

I really don’t see this happening. They have far better places to invest their development time than rebuilding a feature that already exists, works well, and was created for free by the community. Even if their schedule were magically empty, it’s still unlikely they would spend money recreating something players have already solved.
Trade friction is intentional. They are not going to make trade even smoother than it already is. The system functions the way it does by design. There’s already a well established third party tool that does exactly what’s being asked for and is tolerated as long as it’s used strictly for price checking, not automation or anything beyond that. If you choose not to use it, the alternative is the manual route, entering stats yourself, organizing more tabs, and letting time do the work. Items sell most of the time. Just not instantly, and not always on your preferred schedule. A week into a league, non exceptional items slow down significantly. Generic ground loot with nothing particularly interesting often will not sell at all. Those pieces need either the very specific buyer or the very right price. Gradually adjusting prices and giving listings time is simply part of the process. You cannot force instant demand unless you are consistently producing highly desired, high profit crafts the entire league is chasing. A big part of the “problem” solves itself if you adjust your loot filter and stop trying to sell every random rare. Only pick up and list items that are actually strong. If large scale trading is your goal, set up multiple tabs and list in volume instead of micromanaging single items. Like everything else in the game, it comes down to learning item value, understanding what is genuinely useful, and recognizing vendor trash immediately. I think if they keep it simple where you can just drop a item on the ingame trade window and it just auto fills the relevant search parameters with item values is already good enough. Then allow the user to bind that action as a keyboard shortcut where it does just that.

I don't understand the people who don't understand why people don't want to use 3rd party add-ons...
The thing he's asking for literally exists in a GGG product that GGG developed and implemented, to make it so people don't have to use 3rd party add-ons. Why would anyone not want that for POE1 also? It's been really weird to try to get friends to play, only to tell them they'll have to download 3 different community apps/add-ons/builders, and join 2 discord groups; just to have the same QoL that exists in other games. They don't want to play, once they hear all that. GGG's been really good, lately, to try to incorporate most of the "necessary" add-ons, as part of their newest product. They're already dedicating time and resources to developing and implementing these things. It's the community's job to ask them for things we want to see. OP did just that. It's only natural to bring those to POE1, since they've already developed it for POE2. OP's just saying, "Yes. We'd like that here too, sooner than later, please." Why would anyone tell him he should download and use a thing he obviously doesn't want, when the on brand version of it just needs plugged in on GGG's side? And for the folks saying stuff about how there's supposed to be a certain level of trade friction, or that GGG isn't interested in putting in the time and money to fix this... Trade friction is what every single 3rd party add-on is trying to ease. So if you're using one, while also claiming there is some type of benefit to trade friction...ask yourself why you're using an add-on to ease your own trade friction. It gives you an inherent advantage over the people who don't use them. The only people that benefit from excessive trade friction are RMT groups. And GGG just banned one of the largest ones. So yeah. GGG is trying to lessen trade friction, and wean people off the dependence of 3rd party add-ons. Because they ultimately, only hurt the game and GGGs image. GGG has to develop or incorporate their own versions of these things. And GGG has realized that. The "problem" has gotten widespread enough, (evidenced by people in this thread saying they assume everyone uses them) that GGG cannot ban everyone using them; or they'd lose the lion's share of their player base. Instead, they're saving face, by developing and implementing their own in game versions of these things. This is a more complicated issue than it seems. And so far, recent GGG has been doing an incredible job of navigating it, without too much damage to either themselves or their player base. It's been quite impressive to watch how GGG presents their QoL updates. Bravo to whoever is keeping them from stepping on too many eggshells. Last edited by SatosPoE#4102 on May 31, 2026, 3:24:30 PM
