Play the Legacy of Phrecia Event on January 29th PST!

After ruminating on it a bit I've realized something.
With the weird timing this is most likely a beta-test for the next poe2 league, watch 0.5 have Idols instead of whatever they have now. I swear to god GGG if this is your approach to PoE1 after specifically stating that we aren't beta testers I'm never gonna spend another dime on either game. |

" We already beta-tested gold for them(and most recently foulborn uniques and the whole 3.27 league was just back-ported assets from PoE 2 as well as beta testing their new uniques for fate of the vaal lmao), so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they decide to completely scrap tablets, towers and the infinite atlas for a finite one with the Idol system. Lifelong NEET, loud and proud about it.
Found a way to hide any comment on the forums, my experience with using them is instantly 1000x better lemao |

In all honesty, as long as it's fun, I don't mind being a beta tester. The game is FREE to play and not pay to win so bring it on! I'd rather they do the beta testing in these mid league events than new patch releases but once POE2 has a full end game they can get back onto bringing new unique content into the game again.

GGG patch notes when?
|
|
|
A thought for GGG:
I know you like to hold the patch notes until the last minute because you continue to work on things until the last second, and you don't want to give us bad info. But, telling us "there will be balance changes" and NOTHING else is very frustrating, and people like to be able to plan builds. Would it be possible to make a post that's similar to the "patch notes preview" we get sometimes, but a step earlier than that? Something like "This info isn't final and is incomplete, but here are some of the changes we're working on: Whisperer and Surfcaster will be nerfed, Behemoth will be buffed. Idols that stack multiplicatively will be nerfed." But probably with more lines than that. I know you can't give us numbers before they're done, but knowing which ascendancies will be buffed would be huge. Knowing which will be nerfed would also be helpful. | |
" Gold was to be expected, back then we were fine with it because we thought we would get Path of Exile 2 instead of No Rest for the Exiles. Since then they came out and publicly stated that PoE1 is not the PoE2 beta test while simultaneously creating a full league to beta test vaal uniques in PoE2. Keepers was lackluster because it was created with PoE2 in mind. Long tunnel-like buildings and annoying maze-like structures you have to work around with long winded 0 danger waves, instead of just blasting. I don't mind assets being re-used, I mind when a company lies to my face. If they'd been upfront about it and wouldn't have lied almost a full year to their audience it also wouldn't leave such a sour taste in my mouth. If they don't want to develop PoE1 anymore I will simply stop playing. I'm not PoE2's target audience and forcing the philosophy on 1 just doesn't work for me. The next league in both of them will decide, I guess. |

" You're right about patch notes, but on the other hand why would they need to nerf anything? I understand that ur just speculating, but lets be honest, why would anything be nerfed if this is supposed to be a short league where we have a blast (just like last time in phrecia). Also why isnt it going to be voided... Just make it voided and dont nerf anything, just buff underperforming asc. like u mentioned. |

Patchnotes?

" There are lots of reasons for nerfs. One of the biggest is that, for some players, they will feel obligated to play whatever the big outlier build is. Even if they don't find that build fun. Some of them might even skip the event, because they'll feel like they can't have fun if they don't play an OP build (by comparison to other players, not to the game difficulty), and they don't want to play whatever was OP last time (for various possible reasons). Also, I speculate that the fact that they are making balance changes means this won't be the last time we see Phrecia. Bothering with the effort implies it will be used again. " There's a weird psychological effect where players hate void leagues. I say it's weird because those same players (mostly) literally never log into standard, or only log in to move their divines into their "main" currency tab so they watch the number go up. The real questions is why they ever void anything anymore. Standard is full bugged crap and mirrored double or triple legacy items. Even an event league that had a straight 10x loot multiplier attached would have zero impact on standard. (For the nitpicky people: I know this event is parented to Keepers, not standard, but no one cares about the last two weeks of a league except standard players--and any event that would be problematic for the current league could just be parented to standard instead) |
