hash problems
|
So this morning PoE was not loading at all giving me some hash error and asked to use the PackCheck.exe witch solved nothing, then i removed content.ggpk and started to download it again witch leads to this error every couple of gigs.
Is there anything that can be done? or am i just wasting my time? ![]() Any player can design a build that works, but it takes a casual player to design a build that barely works. Last bumped on Jan 4, 2026, 12:41:35 PM

" Assuming Path of Exile is available on Steam in your region, it's probably your best option. Alternatively... Which OS are you using? Do you have any third-party software or VPN clients active? Have you run a check to determine whether your SSD or hard drive has any physical or logical errors? GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

This might sound a bit 'weird and wonderful', but...
If you connect using a VPN - no need to spend money, here, as Proton's free plan should be fine for this - and connect to a different country than the one you live in, does that workaround help? If your download speed is crap while using the VPN, you can stop using it after downloading that one file. Depending on where the problematic cache resides, this is relatively likely to fix it. each time the error occurs it's the diffrent file.

Huh.
In that case, I really would try downloading the game through Steam if that's an option for you. Even if you're adamant you don't want to use the Steam client - the standalone client should accept the GGPK file created by the Steam platform. If you try this and you also begin getting error messages, then that would at least narrow things down substantially. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support. After instaling steam and steam version of poe i made a restart and my OS died. ERROR 101 failed to initialize.
made chkdsk /f /r /x with no issiue found. Had to make system restore. Now, i'm afraid to even Run PoE. Any player can design a build that works,

I feel like Path of Exile is more symptom than cause here tbqh.
Path of Exile is not some underground indie title nobody's ever heard of - if it was hosing people's installations of the Windows OS, we would know. This forum would be an usable disaster of duplicate threads about it. There is definitely something else going on here. Regardless of whether you plan on ever trying PoE again, I would recommend checking out Microsoft's below guide to check for any issues with Windows. I don't know how old the system restore point you had used might have been - but given how recently you had installed Windows to begin with, it's highly likely the install remains troubled. But it's up to you in the end. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

tried to download content.ggpk again and windows crashed with Error: memory_managment.
I Ran Microsoft's memory diagnostic tool with no errors found. All the problems occur ONLY when trying to do something with PoE for past 2 days. I can play other games, browse internet, watch movies without any issues. Any player can design a build that works,

It's up to you; I don't presently work for GGG - nor have I in the past, or plan to in the future.
But whatever the sample size you might have of things you have tried without running into problems in the couple of weeks you've been using that setup, GGG has hundreds of thousands - likely more than a million - people who have played Path of Exile on Windows in the last 90 days without having the problems you describe. Their sample size is multiple orders of magnitude more significant. If Windows is throwing error messages there must be some reason why - and if you are the only one having those problems, it does not seem credible to suggest that something in the codebase of the game (and its launcher...) are problematic only for you. I'd bet a month's income without thinking twice that your setup has further problems in 2026 even if you never run PoE again. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.
