I dislike the new trading system, I really do

I don't miss having to whisper 50 people, then sending the most fake "ty" messages ever to each other after each trade. Or worse, the person I bought an item from has an automated reply from some 3rd party tool they use. I never interacted with anyone while trading anyway, it was just annoying to try and buy any items.

Faustus and Asynch Trade are so much better, its the best thing that's ever happened to this game.

Also no more pricefixers showing up at the top of your search results, that's amazing. There are still people that list stuff for chisels and annuls and random weird prices, but I can just set it to "chaos orb price" from the filters and that hides them all.

Came to argue, sad that I mostly agree. Not sure why you would have an issue with someone automating their thank you reply though... (for me, F3 is "Thankyou for the trade, and GL!")

bid/ask price is agreed upon players. also you cant trade with someone offline.
i think async trade was the solution to people that didnt respond to messages like 100% movement speed implicit on boots in poe2 would fix the movement speed "problems" in poe2.

Maybe not quite that drastic, but i would rather see the bug for the harvest bear during the maven fight that will get you killed fixed first.

Honestly, while asynchronous trading is certainly appealing, I would much prefer if the developers dedicated the same level of effort to addressing harmful bugs. Equally important is investing time in meaningful balance changes, perhaps even on the scale of Expedition League, since it has been such a long time since we’ve seen sweeping adjustments. This league, with the introduction of instant trading, and new layers of player power, only serves to underscore the problem of power creep even further.

I actually had some social interaction with asynch trade. Wanted to buy a cluster but it was like ~500 chaos. I only had a few chaos andn ot much gold, so i just wispered the person if i can buy it for ~3,5 div. We chattet 2 minutes until they were able to remove it from the trade tab and sell it to me. A truely magic moment of arpg trade.

But sadly the days were you would offer random items from Mephisto in a public game to get perfect gems and talk to some other players are over, haha

OP wants to be so social that doesn't bother responding to the replies in his own thread.

Async trade made the game much more tolerable to play. Just the Currency Exchange was a massive introduction into the game.

I don't miss having to whisper 50 players, with 40 not bothering to leave maps while the other 10 are price fixing.

As for OPs arguments, I think he's under the impression that Faustus sets the prices, when that's not the case, the prices shown are being practiced by the players, the discrepancy in BUY/SELL is pretty normal, A wants to sell for x price, while B wants to buy for y price.

Chat is still in-game... If he wants to socialize then he can just use chat for that, this is a no brainer.

The game won't die just becomes async trade is here, and he can still do in-person trades, if he likes to deal with price fixers/afk'ers.

As for the gold, well, OFC GGG had to implement some sort of friction, like they always do with everything in the game.

Kingsmarch can just be ignored if he doesn't like it, I rarely make use of it, despite having farmers spending my Gold.

OP seems to be an old timer with the mentality that the past is better than the present.
Pff, who even plays Standard?

Started at bugs (agreed), moved into balance changes (weve had a ton), ended at power creep (we need moar power capt). Youre all over the place.

I read that very differently. He seems to be complaining that people are impatient. They want the item immediately, and thus are willing to continue buying at the going rate, regardless of the climb in price.

He is aware that this is just a function of demand exceeding current supply at a given price, and would like folks to just set a buy option at an "acceptable" price, and wait for it to be filled, thus avoiding rapid inflation.

This is obviously a ridiculous sentiment. I'm just saying he understands the mechanic of Faustus, and misunderstands how humans interact with a free market online exchange.
