I dislike the new trading system, I really do

I play POE since 2013 and when I get into trading three or four years ago, this added a new and interesting dimension to the game for me. I play league to collect new items, but my empasis is on standard. The two new mechanics - Faustus and the merchant tabs - largly destroyed my fun with trading.

1. Faustus: the proposed prices and the removal of the spread - the difference between 'buy' and 'sell' prices - made the trading of currencies boring. It is appeartend, that the proposed prices are mostly accepted and this lead to in part absurd jumps in the prices.

2. I am not part of a larger clan and from time to time I meet interesting players when trading. Offline Trading is a sad and lonely thing.

3. If I compare the items offered by 'in person trading' and 'Offline trading' in standard now about 90% of all offers are offered offline. I am afraid GGG's one-way offer (you can't switch the premium stash back) will eventually kill in person trade.

4. I understand the idea of requiring 'gold' as fee for trades. But this little has become too prominent. Once the absence of 'gold' was one of the unique things in POE.

So, I very much dislike the new trading system.

Btw. the real time concept of 'Kingsmarch' is annoying.

Cheers!

Idk why someone would love the price fixers, scammers and having to message 20 players before getting an invite.

New trade is great, saves a lot of time, which you can spend fighting monsters/bosses.

My only problem are gold costs, could be made slightly less for items that you buy in bulk. Like yellow beasts should have gold cost of 10, otherwise you still forced to sell them in discord.

If your only concern while playing the game is maximizing monsters killed and currency gained you would have this mindset.

People that enjoy conversing with strangers in a game and aren't in a hurry to fulfill some divines/hr requirement would have enjoyed in person trading more

I used to talk to a lot of people about their builds when i traded back when i played trade more often.

Its an action ROLE PLAYING game.

Also chat is a very vital part of arpgs. you may not notice this if you play sctrade but in hctrade trade chat is always popping off. Its not full of people selling carries, trash gear, or begging for stuff. Its people genuinely enjoying each others company while playing poe.

I see people saying they talk to people when doing trade and I've never had that happen in all the years I played.

"wtb x"
*gets invite*
*visit hideout*
*trade*
"thanks"
*leave party*
*return to hideout*

I don't miss this interaction at all, and I especially am glad to not have to keep sending "wtb x" to 20 people hoping one of them will actually respond.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

It's very playstyle dependant. In 3.26 I made an alt. character for the fishing rod autobomber very early and listed it on poe.ninja. I got daily whispers from people wanting to either try out the build, needed help with their PoBs or crafting advice especially for a high ES explody armour.

Beastiary used to be one of the league mechanics that causes the most conversations before the changes to trade because it's mostly relevant to the top-end and still holds the most special and unknown to most interactions when crafting. I did some CoC-bow crafting in 3.19 and the amount of whispers I got was insane.

If you mostly stick to 1:1 copying stuff at the lower end you're generating very little knowledge that'd be interesting for other players to know.

None of that hinges on peer-to-peer trade, though. People can still contact you and ask how the build works and how to get it running with asynch trade, same with crafting advice.

Nothing you said is wrong, mind you, but it's not relevant to the subject of p2p trade having more social interaction.
