Xp loss on death
|
I love this game but I’m starting to hate it due to losing xp every time I die, I’m level 77 doing maps and it sucks the life out of me when I lose xp. Having to get back to where I died is ok, and every death you learn something so why punish us?
One shots from off screen suck as well Last bumped on Nov 20, 2025, 1:26:43 AM

You'll get used to it.

I must comment on this, since I totally hated this when trying to learn the game.
But actually, it is good for you, since it forces you to focus on aspects that can be considered making you better overall, not just raw dps output or optimization. However, it is very complex to learn all the layers you could, or should use to survive better. I have never passed to lvl 97, so I know your pain. It feels bad to lose the XP, but I always know that it is my fault. I push too hard content, I position myself badly, or I just have forgot to take something into consideration. Perhaps my last death was to poison, and one before that to burning. In combination with some hits coming in. |

Just go to feedback and post on the thread about this topic no need to keep making posts on the matter.

Might need to tinker with your build a bit if you're losing xp at that level.
Ive had multiple characters that were struggling, then I make a few changes and they coast through 3-4 level ups before hitting the next wall. I also really hated the death tax at first, but now I agree with those sayings its 'healthy' for the game. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."

Death penalty FTW.
It is not archaic, irrelevant or harsh. It makes players better. We don't need another snowflake game |

on one hand i believe punishment for dying is a requirement.
on another i think that the fact we die and have to run back to where we came from and lost a portal is punishment enough. i used to be on board the "10XP penalty is justified" train. times have changed. playing better can sometimes translate to just googling "build that can handle all map mods". lets not kid ourselves and pretend that the penalty helps us play better. if i wanted to punish my mistakes i would play HC not SC. and yeah this topic should be put in feedback. not here. tho i do like the fact that it keeps popping up through out the years. players simply are fed up of this penalty. They already put the AH that people wanted for years after they said "no" and added several more QoL's that people thought wouldnt ever come. So why is this archaic thing is still in the game? it servers no purpose other than making peoples time wasted and miserable.
Everything can be bought with the right amount of currency in game. Level 100 is not a prestige thing of any sorts. Put the exp gains lower if you want the grind to be "meaningful" Don't you punish the playerbase enough with nerfs that nobody wanted over the years? "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."

" i do agree with you on level 100 isnt really meaningful but i would say ggg was not dishing nerfs out enough. power creep is crazy in this game. [Removed by Support]

" If i had to guess, the outcry when mana qol was nerfed in expedition and a lot of stuff was gutted is the cause of this. At least 1 in the many times people cried for things, and they caved to keep the power creep. People like to complain about the power creep then complain when there are nerfs. Best to just ignore all the complaing honestly. Its kind of funny how community complaining caused the problem you're concerned with because ggg caved instead of following their design philosophy of the game.
