Mac native question

I said that because generally most optimized games won't compile as Universal since newer Metal API only support Apple silicon chips, which is why newer game ports like Hades 2 and Cyberpunk is dropping Intel altogether.

Your earlier post didn't mention games at all.

Particularly tech-savvy people don't need to have universal apps explained to them half a decade after their emergence. Regular folks who have better things to do with their time than ponder the minutiae of computer components are just going to see you saying that "However most Mac apps nowadays built as Universal apps that can run both on Intel and Apple silicon, which is different than native Apple silicon that can only run and very optimized on M-series chips." and think you mean that universal apps are somehow not native ARM code.

At the time, I thought you didn't know any better and were posting assumptions as fact - misleading people in the process. I'll be blunt and say I still lean toward that being what you had thought at the time. If you're saying one thing because of something completely different, then your post being that indecipherable isn't markedly better. It would have been trivial to instead say "the most well-optimised of games won't be released as universal apps because they take advantage of newer versions of Apple's graphics API" instead of talking about whether something is "native Apple silicon". Nobody in the thread is being arrogant - but please understand that people will attempt to shut down what is perceived as misinformation, and posting in a way that is unclear and confusing will cause that.

I'm starting my first comment here mentioning Hades 2 as comparison, not Adobe Photoshop. Pardon me if I'm not articulate enough as I'm under assumption that we're all discussing games in this post.

Also, what's this about misleading people? We're all here looking for an answer for GGG patchnotes regarding PoE getting native Apple silicon support. But we didn't see any resembelance of changes compared to other native games and in fact few people notice the performance worsen compared to past leagues. And the discussions spiralled from there. If you know about what GGG meant with native Apple silicon support just say so.

You're saying nobody here is arrogant but all you did since you're showing up is dismissing us as talking nonsense and only interested in being technically correct above all of us while not contribute anything to the real topic: PoE mac native Apple silicon support. A normal "tech-savvy" who's not interested in getting above high ground would just say that we are wrong and steer the topic to the right direction so we all drop the wrong topic and arrived at the answer together, not accusing people misleading others out of nowhere and dissecting their words for words and explain in wall of text why we are all wrong.

Okay, then.

While we're psychoanalysing each other; you

  • showed up in someone else's thread
  • posted something factually incorrect
  • blew up at somebody when they sought to correct the record because the stranger on the internet had, apparently, not disagreed with you the correct way
  • branded the other person as "arrogant"
  • in response to the other person's attempt at de-escalation, persisted in accusing them of arrogance

Am I permitted to offer an opinion about you - or is that kind of thing a one-way street where you are concerned? I have no intention of doing so, but perhaps you might see my point.

And one correction - I didn't dismiss multiple people as talking nonsense. I dismissed one of the things that you (singular) had said as being nonsense. I took the time to read what you had said; it's a shame you were too busy writing me off as arrogant to bother returning the favour.
