Zarokh Killed my Want to Play
The major flaw in that time challenge mechanic is that it seemingly pops out of nowhere. You're very likely to lose on your first playthrough if you go into the fight blind. That last floor should have done a better job incorporating the timer/'collect the sands of time' mechanics before throwing a Do-or-Die scenario at the player.

" I really agree with this note. Seeing that move for the first time in the middle of the very last fight in the very last zone is a recipe for feeling like an unfair fight. I still think there's way too much of an RNG variance in outcome for this trial though. You can get bullied into a bricked run and it feels absolutely terrible. Where else in the game can you grind in between attempts and then be weaker on your next try? lol. I went in blind with a warrior the first time doing it and lost here as well. Was a bit discouraged, but I was like okay lesson learned lets level up and try again. Went in for attempt number two after a few levels and gear upgrades, and had a CVS receipt of afflictions just from the first 2 floors. By the time I got to the scorpion I was hitting like a wet noodle made of paper mache against uber-buffed monsters and lost the fight there after 10 minutes of noodle-slapping. Felt terrible. Few days later I tried again and made it through, 3-4 shotting bosses because I hit all the boons. Zarokh didn't stand a chance. Felt more like I got lucky, not like I finally "beat" the boss. Was just relieved I wouldn't have to do it again and stop picking up Baryas. Last edited by karsey#2995 on Aug 22, 2025, 12:00:15 PM
