It's literally just an Auction House. But at the end you do the final transaction from an NPC that looks like the player. Ass odd as it may sound, it is actually very cool because it is what allowed GGG to compromise and give us an Auction House. Because a big chunk of the monetization is in mtx and thus GGG want to give you reasons to show off your skins. Let's not fool ourselves, this is a gigantic compromise and honestly the best we could have hoped for trading.

Normally I'm not the guy to shut down criticism, but this is an exception. The patch hasn't even been released yet, and this guy is already complaining about it. That is pretty bad.

The takeaway from this patch should be that GGG listened to the vast majority of people's concerns. Will it be balanced? No!!!!!!!!!

But that is fine. There are only so many devs, and at a certain point we have to choose between getting quantity versus quality. The very fact GGG did this shows they have the intention to make it work.

So yeah, I understand criticism is valid and is a necessary part for any project to develop, but I think at this point we should focus on being thankful. And not in a "we're sheep way", but in a way these devs clearly worked very hard to make this game work, and we should take a moment to appreciate when a person does that.

no it is not cumbersome.


GGG is doing it this way because they sold Premium tabs to people so they could use the current trade system.


a new system is being introduced, that will require new monetized tabs.


GGG in their mercy has allowed you the payer to convert tabs that were bought to participate for the old system to the tabs that are going to be used for the new system at no cost.

This is only for the CONVERSION of PREVIOUSLY purchased premium tabs.

After the 3.0 drop happens it will be an MTX for the marketplace tabs.
This is just saving you an MTX for the tab if you already have one.

That's the obvious part. I just want to play a devil's advocate and point out that people could have specifically bought premium tabs because they can serve as both storage and selling tabs, even at the same time - dump tabs with all items listed for 5ex for example.

Here it appears that once you convert the tab to the marketplace version you will loose the storage functionality. Which in this context can make you feel like you lost money.

OP is making a valid point that the system is not perfect, having to make a decision before you can even test it out, doesn't allow you to make an informed decision.

I do not like the current system but I would appreciate being able to switch between the tab's type at least during the 0.3.0 patch to see how much stash inventory I am willing to sacrifice before committing to something entirely.

The new trade is a great change and a much better solution than an "auction house".
