game crash

Hello, I have a problem with the game constantly crashing, which only happens when I want to change absolutely anything in the settings, the game otherwise runs but I can't reset anything. It seems strange to me that I played the current season and it worked without a problem and out of nowhere this started happening. I tried reinstalling the game and the graphics card drivers and nothing helped. My computer parameters are -Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS
-Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 7600S 8GB

Hi,

Just so we can give the responses you'd prefer - is your priority troubleshooting the crashing issue, or do you just want to make certain chanegs to the game client's settings?

I ask as they're stored in a file which could be opened in Notepad and altered manually while the game client isn't running - so if you showed us your current file and told us which settings you wanted to be adjusted, and to which values, we could tell you how to make those changes.

I only ask as it could potentially take us quite a while to root cause the crashes, and once we do it's possible there'll be a fix or workaround, and it's possible there won't be. I'm up for heading down the rabbit hole, but I'd understand if you just want the settings you want changed, changed.
I would like to solve the whole problem, but if you want to send a file, it would be better if you write where and what file you want (I mean a file somewhere in the game or in %appdata% for example) in path of exile 2

Okay!

Are you using the Steam client, the standalone client, or the Epic Games Store client?

Which Operating System is your laptop running?
I am using Steam and Windows 11.

I am using Steam and Windows 11 home version 24H2
Alright, in that case your game client's log files will be stored here;

Local Disk C: > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Path of Exile > logs

(If Windows isn't on the C: drive, use whichever drive corresponds to your Windows install.)

You should be able to just copy 'n' paste the below into File Explorer's address bar;

%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\logs

To help us understand why the crashing is occurring, please try changing a setting in Path of Exile again, then go to the above location and find the LatestClient.txt file, and then give us a link to it over on Pastebin (it probably won't fit in a forum post).

As an aside, could I ask for an example of a setting you want to change, and what you want to change it to? If you could tell me both of those things and also link me to your production_Config.ini file over on Pastebin, I could tell you how to manually alter the file to apply the change you want. It would be helpful to know whether the game client then crashes anyway - in which case, we can just edit the file back to what it had been - or if it does not. It crashing anyway signifies the issue is with the new setting; it not crashing anyway means the problem is specifically related to the game client attempting to save the change. Knowing which it is would be immensely helpful.

The production_Config.ini file can be found here;

Documents > My Games > Path of Exile

If you want to try copying & pasting something instead, this should work;

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile

If your computer asks, for either file, you want to open it in Notepad.

  • Open the file in Notepad on your PC.
  • Go to Pastebin in a web browser (e.g. Chrome; Firefox).
  • Copy and paste the file into Pastebin.
  • Click "Create New Paste".
  • Wait for the page to reload.
  • Copy whatever's in your browser's address bar (e.g. https://pastebin.com/jbUJQR55)
  • Paste it in a response here on the forum
