Why did you stop playing the game?

Two reasons:
1) cant grow char power - 4th ascendancy
2) feeling that no matter what I do I am not growing char power - complete 20 maps and dont feel like anything will change in the upcoming 200 maps.

1-i never even bothered with 4th ascend because the power increase from that is negligible to all my chars, hell my warrior wont get any benefit past 4 ascent points.

2-i constantly get upgrades for my chars (and i'm lazy about shuffling gear mind you), even small things like swapping gloves allowed me to get a unique ring, or changing my secondary skill setup after i found a better weapon allowed me to clear content safer and even changed my play style. getting enough oil to anoint a useful passive allowed me to swap my beast. small things matter a lot in late game, i would def not get discouraged after first 20 maps

slow boring gameplay

The opposite is true, game is far too fast.
Maybe you'd prefer sonic?

The focus of my interest is, those who are still reading the forum but no longer playing with the game, why did you stop what the reason or reasons were?

To begin with my reasons:
1. The total punishment system
2. The trading system
3. The inevitable one -hitting death (After 1144 hours of playing time)

I stop playing after patch 0.2 because I released that GGG is not making this game good (They drawn in bad developing)
I am not willing to stress my self by playing this game (I need relax after my job)
Souls ARPG trash is not for me.

- bad crafting - slot machine instead
- Critical random Kills (intentionally done by GGG)
- horrible trade (this should be closed)
- XP penalty - that's sick idea
- not necessary over complex mechanics
- bad Boss mechanics
- Tencent.....
I love the game and will be playing much more as the releases come. In the meantime, I quit playing for now because of these reasons:

1. The GGG team quit providing meaningful updates, communication, and announcements.
2. The GGG team changed the game to a four month update cycle.
3. The GGG team has consistently failed to keep it's word.
4. Cash grab, much? It's as if extra crafting mats were created solely to sell stash tabs. And it just keeps getting worse.
5. Meaningful drop upgrades for characters is nearly non-existent, and lack of trade just makes it worse.

They wont listen to the feedback. They do their thing and hope lightning strikes twice. Best of luck!!

I'll check it out from time to time, but the juice just doesn't seem worth the squeeze currently. People should be rewarded for their time.
never posted anything but this seems worth it - the game is way too slow. Nobody is actually playing poe to cast 5 spells for random white mobs. Just gave it another chance and instantly quit after 30mins because it is not getting any pace at all.
A1-3 was allright. Rest of the game is just not fun whatsoever to me. I don't want to lose PoE1 so I'd rather show my support to that game. PoE2 needs years and years of content.

-Slow animations
-Every unique is just a worse version of poe1 uniques
-Crafting is just recombinations and rng
-Mapping is just an annoying version of delve
-Trials are a complete miss and only works as a filter against build variety
-Passive tree feels uninspired, lacks impact
-Skills tied to ascendancy should never be a thing

It will take a long time to fix.

I am burnt out by every single mechanic being RNG in this game.
I am not opposed to rng, but it's just too much.

Vaal Orb +1 bad RNG.
Crystal +1 bad RNG.
Time to find another Corrupted Nexus => even more bad RNG.
=> bad RNG³ => burnout experience

Lv 79 Expedition Logbook drop bad RNG.
Olroth in Logbook bad RNG.
=> bad RNG² => burnout experience

Orbs giving terrible modifiers for gear bad RNG.
Orbs giving okay modifiers with terrible tiers for gear bad RNG.
Recombinator seemingly never succeeding.
=> bad RNG³ => burnout experience

It's not too slow, it's too fast.
I'm already playing POE1 by Act2.
So I'm going to answer OP initial question as to why I decided to stop playing (#1 being the biggest reason)

#1 : Bad unique itemization. I was given false hope in 0.1 that the unique itemization in this game would be epic level that could surpass Diablo 2. It was too good to be true. Everything got ruined in 0.2 and more bloat introduced, there are no chase uniques in this game. This is by extremely far the worst for me. I don't think this will ever meet my expectation anymore and it's also a POE 1 thing. At least in POE 1, there are still desirable progressing leveling uniques. I was a fool thinking they would stick in the path of greatness which was Diablo 2. Fighting the elite bosses no longer make anysense because their loot table were destroyed.

#2 : Lack of transparency, ninja updates, disregard of common sense feedback. This is all bundled in #2 because it translate to one thing : they hate their player base.

#3 : Endgame is not fun at all. The tower system is really not good and they know it. Maybe this will be changed, I don't know but so far, they are fully committing to it.

#4 : False balancing. Each time they balance something out, like toning down volatile plant, they always implement something as bad or worse like 40 % temporal chain. Plenty of players said the game is too slow. This is just an extreme aggravation. But theres a work around : you sell the map. You may say this is a non issue, but it just goes back to argument #2, complete disregard of common sense feedback.

The main guy balancing this game said in a video he was dead inside to most balancing feedback because his own experience guides him through what is a real complain vs what is unfounded. This explains a lot. Looking back at 0.2 launch, the way they wrecked the minion class initially is probably one of the worst sheer trolling of over bricking an already unpopular weak/moderate build. They rolled back a little because they went too far but spectre were never adressed since they were introduced in DOTH and they are still to this day not viable and absolute trash.

I could list more, like computer freezing to an hard shut down, potentially leading to permanent hardware damage and such. But to me, that's something I can somehow understand happening and they usually get fixed.

But for points 1,2,3,4 these are direct commands from the top and by design.

GGG should never listen the the ARPG player base. D4 devs did that, and look at that game. A complete trash can of a game.

I do not get these minion complaints.
I had to quit playing SRS minions in 0.2 because I turned the game into POE1 and was insta killing every mob pack and killing bosses in <30s.
