Secrets of the Atlas Launch - Live Updates 🔴

Star Rail never disappoints (i'm currently playing it :p)
do you folks at GGG have any resemblance of a structured company within your teams? Do you have COE/post-mortem processes in place for finding the root causes of these events and work on it for future launches? or you simply don't care about consoles and their players at all?

Judging from the launches of the past few leagues I don't think so, which is a waste, honestly.

I'm so, so disappointed (again) right now. I just wanted to play some PoE in the new league, and instead here I am again, writing this, waiting for Sony's certification, not playing the game.

You thank us for our patience, but what patience? we can't do anything anyway, it's not patience at all, it's frustration. There is one thing I can do though: stop even the thought of buying supporters packs for now, as I planned to do, until I feel I'm receiving better treatment as a console player compared to what's been until now.
You know what? I was being critical, rightly so, about you fucking this up, but to see you've still got people working on fixing it, putting in long hours to rectify this mistake... it doesn't make up for it, and you've still fucked up, but it does make me feel better knowing you didn't all just go home and say "fuck it" at the end of the day. At least you're putting in the effort to fix this mistake, and that's something.

End of their day is only just coming now. They’ve been working this entire time.

The root cause is obvious - GGG have been open about continuing to make material changes to the content of released patches right up until launch day. They even explicitly said that this is exactly what caused the keyboard issue for the console release of settlers - a "last minute unrelated change".

GGG management must be aware that if they are authorising (or requesting) changes the day before release, or even the day of release, and the critical path to launch necessitates a certifications process of 4-14 hours, there is literally zero time for the finalised patch code to be tested on consoles. They just can't be testing or QAing their releases as a separate step following content completion.

Releases on consoles having a high likelihood of being completely unplayable or indeed unreleasable, is a price they have clearly decided they are willing to pay for polish the launch experience for PC users as much as possible.

It's been over 14 hours since they started. I'm not sure about you, but 14 hours isn't a work day. Most offices are 9-5 and few are working more than 12 hour days. They've been putting in a lot of work to get this fixed.

Again, they fucked up and they're not off the hook for that, but they've put in a lot of effort fixing that mistake.

Fixing the mistake would be addressing the structural management issues that have caused this problem to plague every PoE console release for the past 2+ years. They haven't done that.

What they're doing now is just profit maximisation via damage limitation. And the poor developers working through the night aren't going to be the people that fucked up - Mark and Jonathan are the ones fucking up, and this continuing to happen proves that they have made zero effort to fix *their* mistake.
