Many players are reporting that areas feel like they are too large. Normally when this is the case, the main reason is due to other concerns such as monster life or player damage being incorrect, or just a lack of entertaining content in the area. However, we are checking to see if there are any outliers that players are spending too long in to see if any changes to area size need to happen.

In the meantime, we did notice that there are some areas that don't have sufficient checkpoints, so we are doing a pass of adding some more of these.


This is not a problem with monster life
This is not a problem with player damage
This is not a problem with lack of content
This is not a problem with lack of checkpoints

The problem is that areas are too damn big and players are too damn slow, has any dev ever completed A3 with like 10% MS boots?
I have one question that confuses me the most (beside map size and how slow and unrewarding everything feels); why It's so expensive to respec at lower level? Why do I have to go broke in order to respec? What is the vision, the philosophy here?

Because if it's fear that people will respec in order to cheese bosses, even halving the cost would make it a chore.
I wanted to respec and try a new build (since you guys talk so much about experimenting), but I found myself in a loop.
The more I farmed the last 3k Gold necessary, the more I levelled up, the more the cost of gold went up...

We are too slow.
Areas are too big.
The campaign is a SLOG, I only died to ONE boss once but it still took me 3-4 times longer to do campaign than a fresh SSF PoE 1. I haven't even gotten to enjoy the game yet and I've played for 10 hours.
You forgot the most pressing issue...

nice, at endgame huntress one shot rares in 1 div budget,in same time minions strugle with white monster.

Don't worry, I've used almost every skill usable until jamanra act 2(huntress). I just managed to sort ice fang that does f all, but still more than the others. Still can't quite beat him. So i cant even get to endgame to "1 shot rares". And anyone who managed it definitely deserves to be doing that.
About the topic of "game is too slow" I was hoping to read the following:

We have noticed that the discrepancy between monster speed and player speed is too high. To address this, we toned down monsters actionspeed by 25% while at the same time increasing player actionspeed by 15% across the board. We hope that this will help players to stay on top of the fight and not get swarmed and overwhelmed too fast, since we don't want to incentivise a "kill them offscreen - oneshot them before they see you" playstyle".

That what happens when you abandon a great game like POE 1 for a garbage like POE 2.
GGG, I'm sorry, but you guys sound so out of touch with the community. More than ever. It feels like this was a rushed patch with zero play testing. Is there even play testers? I know the sad truth is, WE are the play testers though. I'm not really opposed to this but when you revert things and make the SAME mistakes over and over the faith with your player base continues to erode.

I don't think 95% of your player base wants "the vision". However, if the continued goal and future of this game is to be "Ruthless mode+Souls-like" can you please just tell the community this is how it is? I would respect that and then the people can stop expecting a game different than that. Because it's very unfair to keep dragging along a player-base if that is the goal and throwing little band-aids here and there to appease the masses only to revert back to the thing no one wants each new patch.

There continues to be a very large parallel to Diablo 2 and what happened after that and into Diablo 3. Having a template of what works and then just abandoning it in a sequel to just push away all your loyal players is just insane. But if this is the "vision" please let us know. I bought the giga supporter pack for PoE2 because I had faith it was going to be the future of this genre and I'm regretting it more each day. Perhaps it WILL be the future, but it doesn't seem like the future most of us want. Please listen to your PLAYERS.
