A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players
At this point it's just PR and Tencent clowning in Blizzard's shoes..

This is very disappointing to hear.
Moreso because you knew that it was going to be this way for months now and instead of announcing it before the EA launch you left us guessing then you made a terrible comment at the end of the Podcast with Ghazzy this video at the very latest should have released a day or 2 after that podcast it's just plain disrespectful to the community the way Jonathan talks it also sounds as if he intends to just keep the PoE1 devs on PoE2 indefinitely which means even once we get a league he will get them over to help with the next fire in PoE2 instead of keeping the word of letting the PoE1 team develop PoE1 so it will just happen again and again he talks as if he learnt nothing from this |

I have nothing kind to say.
Big sad.

The sad thing is that after 2 months there still hasnt been any major balance changes to POE2 or content additions.. or.. anything really. All you guys have done is fix a couple of bugs and then buggered off. We dont even know the date for 0.2 release of POE II.. could be 5 months from now.

I love GGG eternally for the years of fun and accept their excuses.
Before me is 40 pages of entitled idiots who think having a opinion makes them right, basement dwellers in appearance if not in reality. PoE 2 is a great game in the making, ppl lack patience and gratefulness. I understand that GGG aimed high to please their community, and for me Jonathan is sincerely appreciated for the transparancy of this post. Who cares if the 1 sees activity slow down for a few months? its to allow the launch of a pitentially bigger and better game. If you only want to compare games side by side, you're an idiot. I feel like an adult in a crowd of crying children for beibg able to wait for everything to resolve over time. Very sad, unforgiving, dramatic community mentality. |

" How is it a lie? Both games are up and running. Neither is slated to be shut down. They simply required more manpower for Path of Exile 2's next patch right now, which needs a whole lot more work than Path of Exile does mind you. I get that it sucks if you still are into playing Path of Exile and aren't interested in or ready to move on to Path of Exile 2, but the Path of Exile league update will happen. And guess what, after 0.2.0 for Path of Exile 2, that means those of us who have moved on to the new game, will have to sit around waiting for updates while Path of Exile receives the focus for its league patch. Until they manage to find a way to balance their work across the two games, I am fine with it taking a bit more time for Path of Exile 2 updates, as long as they don't leave us in the dark. Not knowing and radio silence is far more frustrating than being told "Hey, this will take more time than anticipated." This video basically addresses just that. A much needed update so both PoE and PoE2 players somewhat knows what is currently going on and what to expect; Path of Exile 2 will receive a 0.2.0 patch, the team will be ready to fix issues that may arise within that patch for the first week or two after it has been deployed. Then the focus is shifted towards Path of Exile and its next league patch. I will assume the focus on the games will bounce back and forth like this for a while until they sort things out. "We had to resolve severe balance problems in poe 2" XDXD
Well i think you kinda didn't resolve that one. Not even close :) For poe1 we all expected the delays so its fine just keep up the good work guys. Poe2 is quite good, its unfinished and severely inbalanced yea, it clearly shows that it lacks much but its understandable because its beta phase. But the game mechanics and gameplay fits my taste. Gameplay is more slower and methodical than poe1(at least it should be if it was balanced lol) and also it removes crafting and sockets frustrations. More stronger and less white pollution screen mobs = heathier game experience.

Well. Obviously, it's not good news, but thanks for finally facing the reality, and talking to your PoE1 community about the future of the original game. Watching the obvious pain on Jonathan's face as he admits that things have gone off the rails... I mean, it sucks for PoE1 fans, but it's also gotta suck for the team at GGG. These are gamers at heart, who only want to make a great game that people love playing, and you can just tell that it hurts them when they fall short.
Reality is what it is, though, and having confirmation that the new game you just released is going to continue receiving the attention and resources it needs to get to 0.2 as quickly as possible is great news for the greatest number of your paying customers, more of whom joined for PoE2 than ever played PoE1. I have to feel like this is the right call for PoE2, for the future of Grinding Gear Games, and for PoE1 as well... eventually. I would suggest that your process of restructuring the studio to support both games, post-PoE2v0.2, should include something that looks like a road map so that your player community knows what you're prioritizing, and in what order you expect to tackle those priorities. It doesn't have to be cast in stone, or anything, but with the understanding that it's subject to change... it wouldn't just help restore the confidence of your players, it might also help you organize yourselves. Just a thought. I'm all in on PoE2 at this point, and wasn't really planning to go back to PoE1 at all (unless 3.26 looks absolutely GODLY, of course, I'm not made of stone), but I'll still be supporting you while you impose some order on the chaos. Stay sane, exiles! Looking forward to the next (hopefully happier) update. Living the Hollow Palm live, and loving it. Stay sane, exiles!
