Gives me enough time to master PoE1 before I move onto PoE2 once its F2P and everything that needs to be fixed, gets fixed. So till then, I'm just going to kick back, relax and watch some movies while trying every build possible.

Ok, another try (cause first take was in hindsight too harsh):
- No, not everybody (of the PoE 1 folks) hates PoE 2 - although I have to admit, I struggled first getting into it. But I am already having lot's of fun with the game - even in its current state. Ofc mainly (not exclusivly) in Campaingn, endgame is still a construction site (I hear nobody arguing with this).
- Yes, PoE 1 is simply the best ARPG ever coded - this is coming from a D2X lunatic, who spend thousands of hours in Sactuario when still childless. PoE 1 was and will always be the wet dream of any true ARPG fan imho.
- It was a stupid mistake not to adress earlier, what PoE 2 develepment meant for PoE 1 development. Did they deceive the community? Yes ofc they did.

So what I think:
- PoE 1 even keeps its status of "best arpg ever" even while in hibernation mode.
- And you might think me or this statement is stupid, but I believe them, when they promise not to ditch it. Why should they - I never had any reason to doubt their passion about the game.
- And no, I don't think they conciously tried to miselead the community, they simply fucked up because they bite more than they could chew an failed to acknowledge that earlier.

To sum up my perception: Never assume malice when stupity is a sufficent explanation. And no, this is not the end of PoE 1 but a (rather small) studio (compared to the other bloated ones) trying to adapt to a complete new situation. I still have faith in them, that they will manage to handle both games - even in face of the shitshow we are seeing right now.

And I really wish people would stick to dissapointment and anger - parts of this discussion feel like pitch forks and with hunt (personal perception btw!).

And yes, I have no challanges in this league because as a more casual gamer dad I prefer to play standard - hope that doesn't disqualify me for this discussion. ;)

I guess we have this feeling because we only watch veterans play PoE2 and not new players, but that actually says a lot on itself. PoE 2 killed the fire for many players, for me tp the point I don't even want to play PoE1, the game I've played for 1000h per year since release. Give WASD to PoE1, literally the only thing I want right now to respark my enthousiasm. I know GGG won't do that because they don't want people flocking to PoE1, and to me that's the only reason why they refuse to make a placeholder reset for PoE1 right now. I wonder when they will realize pushing people never works, in no game.

PoE2 is just "tedious" to me. It has cool concepts and systems in it, and its fun for a while.
I played 4 or 5 characters to act 4 (act 1 cruel?) and stopped, because it just felt like such a drag to play. I could not even be bothered to get to maps.

And from what ive seen, mapping is even more tedious.
I dont enjoy "Dark Souls" games and i certainly dont want to play tedious games.
To each their own. As long as i get my PoE1 content, i will be happy.
