Town costs too much
No point in playing anything else. Insane fomo.
Came late to the league, like to play a bit of different hc, ssf, sc. Soft town (main) stuck at 7-8 buildings cos upgrades cost 200k while having mid lvl workers eat 100k overnight afk... You gotta run insane maps non stop just to fuel this shit, no room to breathe, to have fun, TO GAMBLE ITEMS, to do anything but just 24/7 lock in and farm farm farm gold or you never get to even see the town upgraded to max. Jesus christ cut the cost 90% there's still so much you can blow a million gold on in a second. Why you making everything so ridiculously expensive, catered to the 0.0001% once again who play 90 h every day clearing 99 T999 maps in 1 minute non stop farming 900000 gold a minute. [Removed by Support] Go start a new town, play 2h a day, then tell me "HOW EASY AND FAST IT IS" to upgrade. You need to learn how to manage you gold spendings.

unless you are happy with what they bring back, get rid of your mappers. they cost a lot of gold and are a complete gamble mechanic and not worth running for people who dont play all day. its really expensive to keep rolling for rank 10 ones and even rank 10 will die just not daily like the lower ranks do. they are a pain in the arse to micro manage also.

Just gotta run juiced maps during your two hours of playtime to make 1-1,5kk gold which is going to be more than enough to sustain your town for a while on full load even with all map devices all loaded up and running.
Only the players who actively don't play the game struggle with gold, which is honestly not a shocking surprise. Two hours alone of productive playtime can get you very far ;) Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Last edited by Pashid on Sep 23, 2024, 1:35:47 AM

Sweat shop !
level 1 Sailors 3 per boat miners fillem up smelters fill em up Disenchanters .. fill em up Farmers ... a few can be lvl 2 but lvl 1 !!!! The town is going to cost you 200 gold per hour. Then just send 1 verisium bar and 1 of everything with 900 dust to the closest port. most time you will get 3 scarabs and 1 rune or 2 and something else... sometimes a chaos orb... the scarabs pile up 18 per hour with 3 boats ... the camp costs nothing .... over time you will get many scarbs .. a few chaos ... and like i said total sweat shop ... sailors get kidnapped ... leave em buy more ... No mappers they are not worth it ... At the end ..... once you are rolling ... just max out farming .... with decent sailors .... and send em on the long trip to minimize interaction .... Like most mechanics in PoE ... the less you interact with them the better off you are. The town is a timesink ... take all the loot you get from all 3 boats .... send them on the route that takes 2 or whatever hours ... it took probably 3 hours of game time to prep 3 boats .. to have them full and to send them .. not to mention cost of buying the staff that keeps dying ... farming the gold ... etc. . You are better off just running maps instead... Last edited by Jitter912 on Sep 23, 2024, 10:27:09 AM

" You haven't played the town at max level apparently. I've gotten over hundreds of raw divines from the league mechanic not counting mirror shards and power runes and thats probably a low estimation. mappers farming t16s and the ships are insane. Ships felt more consistent at league start but with the sample size before the patch its hard to say. If you're poor on gold just do synth invitation rotas. " I'm sorry, what? This is objectively awful advice, I'm not even going to begin going line by line to correct all the things here which are wrong because it's almost literally everything. OP, do yourself a favor and find a guide/video from someone reputable if you want to make the most out of the Kingsmarch mechanic without too much time investment. |

Start the league mechanic at level 1
Start doing maps .. Keep grinding gold for upgrades. vs Run maps and level. The town loses. Investing time in the mechanic is a losing proposition. vs Run maps level your character , run higher maps. You run the town and take all of the time. The time grinding the gold the time mining the time smelting the time farming the time preping the boats the time waiting for the boats to return/ The time moving the returns to your inventory in the town the time fighting the mining locations in the map the time moving the useless items to the disenchanting shop the time spent loading the mappers. the time spent moving the loot from the mappers to you inventory the time spent moving the loot from the mappers to the disenchanter. VS Run juiced blighted maps for all that time instead .... you character is 10 levels higher ... you have more loot. The town is an illusion exile.. it is a management nightmare ... sold as auto play .... Last edited by Jitter912 on Sep 23, 2024, 10:59:13 AM

Town doesn't cost too much, your expectations might just be a bit off.
Maxed out town is end-game content. If you try to have a maxed town, while not mapping at end-game level, you run into gold issues. Example: Maxed out town/buildings, with all lvl 10 workers. Cost is around 67k/hr to run 2 map devices, farm, and disenchant. about half that if you turn off map devices and only run farm/dust. Maps produce: T16: 8-mod corrupt maps, 20-40k average gold per map depending on strat. T17: 50-100k average gold per map Neither of those are gold-farm specific Either of these farms will easily maintain your gold cost. If you are running T17's you can accumulate multiple days worth of gold in just handful of maps. If your build can't run 8-mod T16's or T17s, then its not end game ready and you shouldnt expect to maintain an end game town. You can have a profitable town without having all level 9/10 workers. -Prioritize 24/7 farming. Use cheaper workers if necessary with a wage you can afford to keep up with. -Only run mappers when you are generating extra gold. Idle workers are free. “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.” Last edited by Piousqd on Sep 23, 2024, 11:36:53 AM

" There are a few good tips in here, but also some terrible advice. Good: Sending tiny shipments of verisium to to ribenfel is great. You need 1 lvl3+ sailor to make a shipment of 2 verisium bars and 2 dust have 0 risk. Just use any sailor thats not your highest lvl sailors, as you will lose some to various events. This strat nets you a few bad runes and a few random scarabs. scarabs can be any scarab, which can be up to ~2div a pop. Bad: Having lvl 1 farmers is terrible advice. Farming/Shipping is the best value for time invested by far. Prioritize having the best farmers you can get/afford running 24/7. Not running mappers at all is bad advice, but it shouldnt be your priority. Mappers can generate steady small profits, with insane jackpots. However, they do require much more of your gold and time. You have to prep maps for them, loot the device, respond to deaths, etc. Run mappers when you have extra gold. Work on maxing your town, and having it run non-stop. When you can sustain your farm and duster, and have decent farmers hired, then you should start running mappers more regularly. For reference, you can expect (on average) Shipping/Farming 50m crop/dust shipment= 2.5 mirror shard 700k crop/dust shipment= 0.5 divine Mappers 12 T16 Alch'd Maps= ~ 1d-4d value from raw currency, life force, gems. Tips for mappers: -Use your loot filter -Keep an eye out for highlighted rare's with multiple T1/T2 affixs. I have gotten quite a few items that sold for multiple divines from mappers with very little crafting to finish them. Bench craft/exalt slam/eldritch -Always check gems for 21/20 -Run maps with good div card rewards. I picked up an apothecary from mappers (50d) “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.” Last edited by Piousqd on Sep 23, 2024, 12:02:24 PM
