Flat damage is in such a laughably bad state
" Well as mentioned the power difference is quite high. Me personally. I think it undermines mechanic and design concepts. They have all these layers, statues and interactions... or you could just play stack a stat and win. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" i do not know if you play melee or wanders. but if you do - do a stacking version of these youll see just HOW GOOD it is. not only the damage is ridiculous but the stats (esp INT and STR) also give you sooo much utility/defences 2000 INT gives you 400% ES and 1000 flat mana. these are absurd values, esp on builds that can make use of both and double dip in a sense. this league stat stackers were buffed with kalandra's jewelry return. these reflected items are hardly usable outside -lightning res and attr stackers. sure, you might get mirrors with +1/2/4 simplex etc but that is outside normal realm. so entire mechanic is here mostly to buff stat stackers. how fun.
" I was previous about a 2/3 melee player but blacklisted myself from playing it. I played two melee this league. First was my own take on Earthshatter using 0.6s Spikes and attack speed break points. I saw streamers playing Earthshatter Shout so I dropped it to try Pestilence Strike. got annoyed with strike range then noticed Earthshatter was 1% and "of Fragility" was 0.0% so I went back to it. The build still has a lot of room to grow but I'm bored. I'm the type who will just stop playing a character if too many people are playing it. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

stat stackers are popular because they have great scaling power but also have a low investment entry point.
as an example for a handful of chaos one could get Brutus' Lead Sprinkler + The Iron Fortress + Crown of Eyes which is enough to carry the build until one can farm currency for the expensive items to finish it like Replica Alberon and jewelry. non stacker builds have a much expensive entry point and not many have their stash full of currency to buy or attempt to craft those items. if anything the problem are not stat stackers but the rest of the options either being mediocres or to expensive for the average player. self found league fan

Asked some pros for suggestions on hows to improve my build (assassin cobra lash chaos dot).
The answer: "sure, just get 0sin and go lightning damage, since you have more sources of lightning damage than chaos." lmao. Pff, who even plays Standard?

to be honest - your build is at 99percentile
at that level it is difficult to expect balance, the differences between builds/types is staggering and all these small differences multiply like crazy your build does all it needs to do, it peaked. move to different build or enjoy farming the content you like with the current one problem described here applies MUCH earlier in build progression. not at 500div level but at 100c level. budget INT stacker WIPES THE FLOOR with non-stacking alternative. both are still weak, but stacker is clearly better and has WAY more ways of scaling upwards
ZarkBit you'll always get dumb answers from the players that play specific combinations only without knowing why.
Awakened unbound ailments is going to crush swift affliction as a support you can save 3 passives by switching cluster jewels to follow-through on projectile clusters as well as picking up a few extra stats. Personally i'd switch 54 chaos > hits can't be evaded on your one claw and stop dual wielding too, the gains are pretty marginal and the max hits on this make me cringe. Not that it'll actually get hit very often. This route saves you a huge amount of character budget you are currently spending on accuracy, i've not actually looked at how much you'd be able to get back but I wouldn't be surprised to find you can push it to just being universally better. I don't wanna go too far down the rabbit hole but there is plenty of room for improvement depending on which particular facet of the character you want to be better. I'm gonna disagree with sidtherat on this build specifically too, this builds expensive but it could be so much more with some more optimisation and currently could be outperformed for substantially less. Agree with the rest of their post though stackers can get started for next to nothing then have a constant train of upgrades to work on. Last edited by Draegnarrr on Sep 24, 2024, 2:29:58 PM

that build - dual wielding claws has GREAT masteries, they solve a lot of problems.
good point with accuracy. altho that 3+1 cluster is a great value for Perfect Agony build and i think this is a great build to go for unholy might instead of that 4link withering step setup (does it even work now? i dont play poison) btw blasphemy has flat %less curse effect. maybe self curse with Balance of Terror? that frees you for Envy amulet and gives you few cool Balance of Terror perks you dont need curses for map clear anyway
" for some reason lightning gets most of the +flat damage sources for stackers. from the top of my head: lightning: archmage: mana added as lightning spell damage those boots that add lightning to attacks based on accuracy mind of the council: mana added as lightning attack damage energy blade and the unique sword: ES added as lightning attack damage mana storm and arcane cloak support: mana added as lightning damage The Poised Prism: Lightning Damage to Attacks per Intelligence chaos: replica alberons: str added as chaos attack damage sacrifice support: life added as chaos spell damage The Burden of Shadows: life added as chaos spell damage fire: brutus lead sprinkler: added fire damage to attacks based on str The Poised Prism: fire Damage to Attacks per str cold: The Poised Prism: Cold Damage to Attacks per Dexterity physical: iron commander / replica: flat phys damage based on dex / str Bloodthirst Support: super bad life added as flat phys damage to attacks (2% vs 20% of its lightning equivalent archmage) and then there are a few mods for rares. self found league fan
