We need some sort of auto roll function for alteration orbs
" And that is why you have to do something called "thinking ahead and simulating the best way to craft an item". +1 all for an RF sceptre is 8 average with fossils, other mods may not be crafted with fossils but with essences, exalteds, harvest reforge... Just because you dont know how to craft a certain item doesn't mean it can only be crafted with alterations and other crafts would be "100x more expensive" as with the 82 average with fossils. But if you do keep insisting that you really must craft the item with alterations for some reason while there is not a reason to do so when you can just use other ways of crafting, you can just use a magical thing called "regex" and another magical thing called "binding left click to mouse wheel" and just scroll until it highlights the item. Lol, i don't want to craft an rf wand or a minion wand. I want to roll t1 hybrid and fracture it so i can continue. Wands are 50 div, jsut the base, with low roll t1 so fracturing it is very profitable(on average at least). You talk about some wands with +skills. That's a different ball game and it might be worth it to throw 4*fossils at the item in that case...Also, don't tell people they dunno what they do if you haven't even crafted a manaman wand. Normal case would be you buy the item for ~50 chaos and throw a fracturing orb at it, but there was no one answering and the market is kind of dry, so i made a suggestion about alt spamming QoL...
The 82 trys with the fossils that favors caster mod is the only reasonable way btw, i used craft of exile, so your "thinking ahead" statement is also not on point just as your example with the +skills, that clearly do better with fossils. But thank you very much for your very polite input [Removed by Support] Last edited by Taylor_GGG on Sep 11, 2024, 4:25:29 PM

I would have to agree with OP, adding a bench where you could see all possible mods, chose which one you want and let the bench do the rolling. Maybe it rolls 10k alts without hitting it but atleast then its the bench doing it.

Alright lets go that route with alt spam since it takes alot of alterations, why not automate essences too? They can take hundreds to get what you want. What about fossils, why not automate them too? What about harvest reforge, why not automate to reforge until you get the mods you want?

Big difference imo, since it's about a magic item that can only have 2 possible mods. An unfinished "blank" or whatever it's called in english, where you have to continue to craft to make sth out of it...Also the numbers of alteration orbs that players have in their stashes is significantly higher and we are talking about thousands of clicks...Yes there are probably some crafts where you have to use thousands of Essences, but that can't be compared to alt spamming for a certain mod jsut for the first step...A fixed overpriced option for alts or an automated craft that eats all your alts and augments until you might eventually hit wouldn't break the game(Unlocked only late game or whatever)

" I'd be fine with all ways of crafting working this way, however only 1 mod should be able to be selected and it can automaticly roll for you lets say once a second for aslong as you have the currency needed. Last edited by Tjucken on Sep 11, 2024, 4:45:26 PM

" You also roll synth implicit before doing an high end craft with a magic item, so by that logic you should be able to place beasts and just auto reroll the implicits until it gets what you need since its a magic item. It's the slippery slope why I think it would be a bad idea to add this form of automation in crafting. Yes, one of the larges issues of POE lies in the huge assemblage of mechanics that don't really work well but can work. If alteration orbs exist they should work well, or at least better than they do now. See also almost every other currency crafting options we have.
