Didn't see it mentioned but both crew members getting lost/killed and pirate attacks are NOT related to your shipping risks. If you look at the risk tool tip the last paragraph they explicitely state it there. So yeah, it's likely bad luck on your end. I get attacked like once a week and would prefer 3 times a day.

This is why I don't do short 2 bar boat expeditions. Having to constantly replace your crew is friggin annoying.
As for the pirate boss - he is the only one who has never given me a power rune so eff him |
