Ritual monster with homing green orb explosion!
Yeah Ritual really got ruined and became insanely cringe to run because of all these affliction mobs they added. I'm always blocking it now and never touching it unless I absolutely have to for challenge completion. It used to be kinda fun to just kill mobs from the map in a circle and get some loot, maybe get a divine or rare divination card from time to time when you reroll.
Now it's unbearably annoying to play, and also I think those exploding orbs count as "monsters" so any added phys as ele mod you have on the map will affect them, or stuff like "monsters have a chance to inflict elemental ailments". That may be why those orbs are giga-freezing and shocking and igniting people. I really don't like this trend they've taken with the game ever since Archnemesis. "Let's make everything as annoying and overtuned and oneshotty as possible." That's not fun game design. All these "haha gotcha" moments that happen in the game are never fun. No deathlog doesn't help either. | |

So all things considered post nerf rituals are fine, if this is making you block ritual or causing you any real problems then you need to ask yourself how you actually go about tackling content.
However I too think they should remove or heavily tweak them, primarily because they are just far too common and every ritual starts with the player being chased by 3000 green orbs to run through. I don't like that they have the purple corpse explosion all the time either because its intense effects bloat in a content type that already has absolutely no visual clarity. |

they were given 2 extra casts this league of the tree skill which spawns the orbs.
honestly if i had to add this to the game and didn't have a choice i would have made it so that it gets 1 cast in white maps, 2 casts in yellow and 3 in red maps or something to at least get people used to having to dodge them. You can run a bit slower by moving your mouse closer to your character and this causes you to slightly jitter forward at a reduced rate and it really triggers these orbs nicely. Alternatively go to one side of the arena in as straight a line as possible and then immediately walk the opposite direction to trigger the balls and escape them quickly.. I had issues being stunned by these so if one got me all of them would get me as such ^ i needed to avoid them at all costs early on. Innocence forgives you

Yep, bump.
I run ritual for my deck farm. I've learned to avoid the orbs for the most part, but sometimes a screen-wide pack that isn't dying immediately in the wrong spot, I get one-shot with massive defense layers. It's overtuned and unnecessary. Also learned to get used to them being put right at the boss on my fav maps, which is particularly like a slap in the face. |
