“Path of Exile” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

"Path of Exile 16-17-48-955" was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer.

MacOS can't work clients.

This Method worked for me ----->

Step 1: Move to trash, "Path of Exile.app" in the Applications Folder, Move to trash Dmg, Empty Trash,
Restart.

Step 2: New Dmg, Install ---> Right click or Option Click "Path of Exile.app" in the Applications Folder
and select show package contents.

Step 3: click contents --> MacOS --> run the Path of Exile Unix Executable File - 3.1 MB
" Once you run it the terminal should show up and on the top it will show the directories the app
is using. You want to focus on the----->

****** Path of Exile folder set to /Users/yourUserName/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile. *****

<------- The important point here is "Path of Exile folder set to" ----. It might be different on different machines. the above path was for me.

Once the exe files finishes it will say corrupted move to trash, go ahead and do that. Then find the folder path based on the terminal. If you open Users and do not see the Library, Use CMD+Shift+period (.)
to show hidden folders.

Step 4: drag and drop the Path of Exile.app front the trash to the /Users/yourUserName/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile folder. Once dropped, right click or option click the Path of Exile.app and click open. then click Open anyway, and you are good to go. Just to clarify you are opening it in the /Users/yourUserName/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile folder where dragged it from the trash.

hope that helps. I am on Apple M1 Air 14.5 Sonoma

You're awesome! I was getting crashes from the Steam version first. This worked for me.
thanks! I was able to get this to work... First try led to it not working. I deleted the application, the application support file, and the downloader. Basically I deleted everything there is relating to POE.
Then, I restarted the computer.

1) I followed the directions step by step.
2) under system settings > Privacy & Scurity > under the security tab you have to "allow the application" in between steps three and four.
3) after allowing the app as it is not by an identified developer, option click or right click and hit open on the POE application in the application support file folder where you dragged the copy from the trash.

I hope this helps!!

Still happening for me. This has been an ongoing issue for forever. Is there anyone at GGG actually doing Mac support? Or is it just a dead platform for them?
I am now able to open the path of exile native mac application 'SOME-WHAT" reliably. Steam was crashing regularly for me, and the gameplay via the Mac application seems to be much less buggy. I still get crashes randomly, but they appear to be server connection related as no crash reports appear when this happens for me to send to Apple. All in all much better than running POE via steam.

Step 1: Move to trash, "Path of Exile.app" in the Applications Folder and all previous downloaded versions of the MAC OS DOWNLOAD in your download file folder...and empty the trash.

Step 2: Download the latest Mac client via the POE website. Click on the downloaded file (DMG with the Path Of Exile Icon) and double click or drag the POE icon to your application file folder.

DO NOT TRY AND OPEN THE PATH OF EXILE CLIENT BY CLICKING ON THE ICON. THIS ENDED UP CORRUPTING THE PROGRAM FOR ME AND I HAD TO RESTART. AT STEP 1.

Step 3: Right click or Option Click the Path OF Exile icon in the application file folder without launching the actual client. Scroll done and select "Show package Contents"

Step 4: Left click the "MacOS" file folder

Step 5: Left Click (Run) the "Path of Exile" .exec file. This will bring up a terminal window and the client will try to launch. The client crashed for me here and failed to load.

Step 6: Left Click the "PathOfExileClient".

At this point, the client should run (at least it does for me). If it doesn't run the application and you get an error or client crash, then you will have to delete the application and start back at step 1. Make sure that Path of Exile has "Full Disk Access" via system settings.

Try to get to waypoints as fast as possible so if the client crashes, at least you can restart at the latest waypoint.

Good Luck!
