Hello there
First thanks very much for the guide. I am a hardcore player and I decided to play Crem with my next character, so I was looking into multiple ideas, in hardcore right now people goes the way of high resists which you were using in the past league, in your current one you don't have 86+ resists anymore (I know the unique glove means less resists per piece so i need to get them from somewhere else) so do you recommend going the poison way for hardcore too and use the glove? or do i go a normal fire version and if so any advice for the tree or items? (also we use viridi helm for sure to take less damage) |

" You can check my character. I have 89 max res. |

" Thank you so much |

Hey Gryph,
how about 3.21. What would you go for. Cause of Missing Original Sin and Balance of Terror. Is Volkuurs Guidance mandatory now? I wont be able to run poison version otherwise right? |
|
" That's correct. For the poison version you *need* the Fire variant of Volkuur's. |

So... I've seen this post from time to time and I always like builds focussed on tankiness with some single target.
I like the concept also - not really intuitive, a lot of mechanics involved. Right up my jam. So I threw a random version of this build together in standard: Really poor execution, not capping on block, not nearly capping poison chance, literally a few essence and fossil crafts on the rare gear, basic clusters, no unnatural instinct etc. All in all a setup that is entirely ashes, the core gems, the chest and a lucky hit on a sceptre. And this is so insane 🤣🤣 The damage is far higher than it should be with such a bad chance to poison enemies (should honestly have gone for chance to poison rather one other supp gem), the tankiness with quite some block missing lets me still stand for quite a while in rare t16 mod maps with quite nasty modifiers.. So yeah, build and concept proven I'd say. If nothing important changes majorly, then this test concluded my 3.22 testing and I have my setups, Starting with Absolution for campaign, respeccing into Dom Blow Atlas progression into Holy Relic for the first 100div and then building this beast of a machine. " I love that you can just Frankenstein this together and it *works* as long as you get the core mechanics working correctly. What I did (and will probably do in 3.22) was start as Fire Trap Elementalist, transitioned to Unearth based DD Ignite Elementalist with CI, Aegis, and mostly same gear as Cremation build until I could include Ashes, at which point I swapped to the main build. The farming strat I used was pretty much just blighted maps (Towers can do all the work in red maps pretty much) into blight ravaged ones once I swapped to DD Ignite. It made for a pretty smooth transition from start to finish which was nice. |
