The helmet is a whole lot of RNG. I have one in the making (taking it slow because Harvest crafts are expensive).
So I got to this point in around 11ex. This is INCREDIBLY lucky. Like, I hit the T1 Spell Crit in 1 go. I spent all last league making helmets like this/similar and never hit T1 spell crit.
The main issue of course is that it's 2ex+reforge crit for the attempt. If you fail, you then have to gamble the entire craft on a 50/50 with an orb of dominance (1.5ex), that, if successful, you spend another 2ex to TRY AGAIN and it's a 1/6 to hit T1 (imo T2 is also totally acceptable). Oh and if you fail? Back to the drawing board of Horror Essence spam or Glyphic+Frigid Fossils. Recombinators are also a thing and is how I got T1 hypo and 30% more ele damage. This risks the base of course, but I think it's cheaper overall.
TL:DR->it can cost a FORTUNE to craft these helmets. Or you can get lucky.
Edit: This is all just the suffixes. To get Conc Effect you will spend a lot depending on luck and method you use (beast slamming, TFT Harvest Reforge Influence, Harvest Reforge, keep suffixes, etc...) Reforge influence is the most reliable way to get conc effect. Whether it's the most cost efficient depends on current prices on TFT though.
Alright so doing some quick Math on hitting the suffixes with Essences, it takes on average 24 essences to hit one of the mods you want at T2. At 26c each, it that's 624c.
Using this info and some very rough Math on probabilities, I'm calculating that to hit the suffixes, you'd need somewhere in the range of 65ex assuming you have below average luck. And seeing as how I just missed a 50/50 recombinator chance 6 times in a row I think I won't have a good time. Now I feel like I need to start a new build just to farm the currency to progress this one lmao. I might throw afew tries at it for fun but I'm gonna have to look elsewhere to improve I guess.
Speaking of other ways to improve, maybe I have to try to cap my block chance somehow? I'm currently at 70% block chance with Bone Offering up and I'd think that hitting cap could make a big difference.

Now, if you'd expect 65ex via conventional methods, recombinators might be a good idea. Lol
For example, making the base is roughly 3ex (+/-). You can use a couple horror essences (prefer 3 prefix and only 30% more as suffix) to get that squared away. You can then buy a Shaper-only helmet with Hypothermia and Spell Crit on it and try to recombine them (These cost 1ex+ for double T1). So like, if every attempt at a recombine costs ~5ex, that seems a lot more cost efficient to me. Especially since not every failure is going to destroy the base. Each time you get Hypo+30% more, you can spend the 2ex suffix lock+reforge crit to try for spell crit (assuming you have an open suffix).
Is there a significant difference between a +1 weapon and a +2 weapon ?
The unearth level is now 20 + 4 ( Empower ) + 4 ( Gloves ) + 1 Ashes + 1 Weapon = level 30. Seeing that level 30 and 31 does not seem to increase corpse life, would it be ok just to fill in with other damage mods rather than a +1 physical ?
Also , does Fire Damage Over Time Multipliers help in anyway for the crit version ? Or just Critical Strike Multipliers ?
Thanks !

Stealing the Math from the guy who made the recombinator guide, it's a 35% success rate when you have isolated suffixes (Each item has ONLY 2 of the desired suffix). Factoring in a 50% chance to choose the correct base, this puts us at roughly 75% chance to succeed at 7 tries which looks better on paper (35ex cost?) but feels like it's gonna be worse in execution.
First, you would have to get only 2 desired suffixes on both items. Looking on market right now, there aren't alot of Shaper bases with the 2 desired mods and even fewer with only 2 suffixes (I actually don't see any right now). The cost of making one yourself would be much higher as well. You'll also have to do this for the other base. This is important since having just 1 extra undesired mod would drop the success chance to 8.75% (before the 50/50 for base).
Next is the issue with losing the enchant due to choosing the wrong base. The enchant isn't very cheap and you'd have to get it on an elder/shaper base too. I think in this case it might be better to pay someone to run labs for you after the item is finished. This costs anywhere between 2-12ex from listings seen in TFT so I'd estimate it at 10ex. I think overall, this adds up to make recombinators not much better than the normal method. I'll calculate the estimated cost when I have time but it doesn't look good so far. It probably would still be good to try it if you can get the bases with the isolated suffixes though.

There's also a point where you can end up with Hypothermia+30% more ele damage as a failure (what happened to me) which would be no different in end result of trying to lock suffixes and reforge crit.
And the shaper bases *can* be bought. You just have to keep an eye out for them. I bought the one I used for 1ex (1 open suffix. T1 hypo t1 spell crit-lost the crit). Bought another one earlier with T2 Hypo and T1 spell crit for like 40c.
But yeah it would be interesting to know the math behind it all. Do you have a link to the recombinator guide?
