[3.19] The Orbital Striker Occultist - Hexblast Chaos Ignites leaguestarter to endgame

Hey, I just respec'd into this build after seeing it pre-league launch and am pretty excited about it. I have pretty much all the gear in the 'budget' section and am looking at Doppleganger as my next upgrade. I can explode some packs pretty well in T16s, but I feel super squishy at the moment, I'm hoping Doppleganger aleviates some of that feeling.

Sometimes when I zap a pack I don't really notice much damage but other times the pack just EXPLODES which feels great. Is there something missing from my gear that prohibits that explosion from regularly occurring? I also have not played hexblast before, so maybe I'm not playing the skill appropriately.

Can't wait to really get it going, thanks for any assistance!
BTW because ashes is 35ex right now I rolled my helmet with deafening essence of loathing which gives 10% mana reservation, which paired with impresence from the starter setup let me add in defiance banner without changing anything else


Also, Ive been looking at other helmet stuff, I know double elevated redeemer/hunter would be BIS, but I was also looking at eater and searing mods since it would be MUCH cheaper to just roll two of those. You can get like duartion of ailments, increased despair effect, fire damage, and some other things ill need to POB and see how much difference it really is VS the normal conqueror influenced ones

Doppelganger is literally like taking half damage so it helps a lot. Also your CWDT/Molten shell is low level, 20 in those gems is more mitigation. Another thing is having a granite flask with the charges when hit + like 50% increased armor during effect is pretty big too. Right now im over 30k armor with the flask almost permanently on in maps

Already in t16, killing guardians, farming t16 delirium with sentinels. Dont have problems on maps. Fightning against empowered bosses or empowered rares sometimes are not fast.
Feels really good now, after I put cluster jewels into tree.

why we dont want elemental overload?
it will only matter on boss fights

we can put orb of storms with incrised crit chance, we can proc EO and get easy +40% more dmg with ailments. POB telling im not wrong... or am i wrong?

We can use wand with trigger and put orb of storms + icc + flame dash, it would help us against tanky mobs. What do you think?
A little update, I upgrade my build yesterday, I bought blizzard crown with hexblast enchant, got some cluster jewel + I bought forbidden flame and forbidden flesh with bastion of element.

At this point I'm at 3k4 HP all resist cap (chaos resist too), I switched to dual wielding (My weapon are still not so good), the build feel really amazing now, I almost never die, the clear speed is insane, boss damage feel always a little bit low but at least I don't die anymore on them.

Now I will start farming for big item, next upgrade will be probably ashes of stars, divergent hexblast 21, awakening gems and HH for mapping.

Thanks for this build, I was bored to play only meta build.

Elemental overload was changed a year or so ago.
It now grants the 40% damage buff only to skills that actually dealt a critical strike in the last 8second, it is not a global buff anymore.
As a reminder, damage from ignites was almost doubled in the same patch, this isn't a nerf.

The problem with it on ignite builds is that ignites from crits already deal 50% more damage. Pob computes that correctly, but computes elemental overload as always active, which is just missleading.
When you crit with ele overload, you deal LESS dmaage for 2 seconds (duration of the ignite), and THEN you deal 40% more damage for 6 seconds (3 spell rotations if playing perfectly).
On anything that is not a boss, the loss of damage on the crit means it is not worth doing anyways. On anything that is a boss, our crit chance (to proc EO) is so minuscule anyways that it's not worth a single skill point.

Now that I have things going the build feels really nice! The single target on pinnacle bosses isn't great, but I'm hoping to be able to start scaling that next. The POP during mapping is so satisfying.
Hmm I want to switch over to dual wielding but POB says I lose effective HP pool and max hit taken both if I take the shield off and use the two gems for bastion, not sure if I wanna make myself less tanky unless there is something im missing

That's probably due to armor going below 50k, and molten shell ehp being valued too much by pob. Try to ignore guard skills when changing gear for defensive purposes.
How do you manage 4 aura? I can only have 3 on and it eats my entire mana bar.

yea i made the swap to dual wielding, right now I just think I need more hp im still at about 3.5k but im in the 4.5-5m sirus dps range
