today i have spend 3 divines to craft helmet with no success. I have tried everything. fossils, chaos spam, alt regal etc. I still didnt get +1 leven aand minion life together. They always come seperately. Waste of precious currency and time...
i crafted a helmet at the end of 3.18 before GGG removed the ability to craft +3 on the helms
i bought the bases with 30% and the minions deal 40% increased damage on it. not cheap as they costed me 10ex each as they were legacy. influenced both, rolled the mods, combined them and ended up getting a bad mod. annuled it and lost the +3 mod. so i just started hitting it with fossils and dumped everything i had in it as i needed that helm. got it done only to see minions get hit pretty hard in 3.19. the build i made it for was full uber and all content killer. i mean all, delve, heist, maps(all mods), and wave 30 sims. now it barely does T16 maps.
while not perfect, i was still more than happy with the outcome. i invested my entire currency collection following the guide for it as well as using craft of exile and it's predictions. in the end, it all comes down to rng and nothing more. that is the exact reason that there are entire guilds and certain players that makes these items to sell at great expense because it can cost a lot to craft them. i hit all the mods with fossil crafting that is on it now after spending hundreds of fossils and it happened literally as i was using the very last of my currency.
yes you lost 3 divines. just chalk it up to learning how to craft. currency wasted and time lost. collect more and try again or just buy one and understand the cost of those items
The problem with having a +3 helmet is that you lose +2 all gems from your helmet and also potential body armour corruptions such as +2 duration gem levels or +2 minion gem levels
so you lose some levels there where u might potentially get a +2 all helmet and +4 body armour.
Yo am I crazy dumb? First league so I might just be a noob...can you elaborate on how to craft the helmet? Is it just orb of alteration/augmentation to get minion life & skill gems?
I think I have a part dedicated to crafting the helmet on the Original post.
I have my own method of crafting my helmet.
You need a helmet with skele dmg enchant 40%
Elder influence bone helmet item level at least 75, make sure it has 20% increased dmg implicit if not bless it into 20%
because we are going to corrupt it if we fail to get a +2 level to the all-minion gem mod.
craft on it:
elder influence
at least +1 to all level of minion gems
minion life to socketed gems elder mod
craft a prefix with +1 to maximum number of skeletons
suffixes can be whatever you want.
if you want specific suffixes there are extra steps I need to explain.
then you corrupt this helmet into 30% quality in best craft.
then you use a divine teardrop on it until you change the +1 minion gem into a +2 minion gem mod.
it is 100% success rate if you have done everything properly. no chance to fail
What are the steps for the specific suffixes? keep seeing bad rolls on the market
There is a way to make sure you get chaos resist as suffix on your helmet but it becomes a bit complicated and expensive.
Here how it goes:
You need your helmet ready- uncorrupted - +1 all minion gems + minion life to socketed gems - empty prefix - 1 empty suffix or all suffixes cleared - which we ll do as we go along.
Once you have that helmet, you need that 1 suffix empty and craft prefixes cannot be changed then scour it to have only +1 to all minions + minion life + empty prefix on it. At that point you have spent 2 divines to clear it.
Second step: you put can craft 3 modifiers - prefixes cannot be changed and any prefix on it - this is necessary because we do not want the empty prefix to be filled with chaos damage to spells prefix.
3rd step: go to harvest craft and craft a - reforge items with chaos modifier craft. This will leave you with a 100% chance of chaos res on your helmet and it will still have an empty prefix there to craft +1 +1 zombie and skelies craft
Then you can exalt other suffixes and pray to be lucky. This will cost you about 6 divines but ensure you to have chaos resist on your helmet.
Then the other steps are the same - 30 quality corrupt it on beast then divine teardrop it to have +2 minions and enough chaos resist roll to satisfy your resist need.

Hey ^^
Yeah man... Once you get unlucky on the helmet it keeps going. I spent like 5 divines on my last helmet where I tried to profit and then sold it for 3 divines. Best chance on that is to spam bound fossils on an already enchanted elder ilvl 75+ helmet and hope for the best.

you are totally correct. but... i had no clue that the +3 mod was going to get replaced the way it did. skeletons are in the helm so they get the +3 as intended but not the other minion gems. also note that none of my gear is corrupted as i do not corrupt anything. rolls are too good on the gear to take that chance lol
poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead
Hi all, my friend just switched from Physical SRS to Summon Skeletons (her fav build in prev leagues)
It's extremely budget but it doesn't appear to be doing any damage and is considerably worse than the phys srs was (without any upgrades on it) - any ideas why it doesn't seem to be doing anything please? Is there something easy ish that we can fix to increase damage a lot for around 100c?
https://pobb.in/vFt_poRAIxC_
Renewal/Blessed Faith jewel is like 100-150c but not sure the few points it fixes will seemingly make a huge difference as our priority was Aegis until we went in a map and she did very little
. also note that none of my gear is corrupted as i do not corrupt anything. rolls are too good on the gear to take that chance lol
It's mentioned above but just to explicitly state there is a beast you can use on the blood altar that corrupts the item to 30% quality with NO RISK of changing anything else on the item. I'm not sure how relevant that is to your particular helm(I think you mention 30% quality elsewhere).
The further use case for a divine teardrop to hopefully raise a +1 to a +2 helm being slightly cheaper than a divine and only changing one mod (I think anyway XD )
Edit: if you meant the risk of changing with the teardrop apologies and I've wasted everyone's time
