Another question - now that Prophecy is being removed, is Hyrri's Demise going to be a core drop?

In the 'Prophecy'-part of the notes, they list some fated uniques and go on to say the following:
"
Fated Unique Items not mentioned above now have a chance to drop from any endgame map boss. This is a temporary measure to maintain their availability. They will be moved to a new acquisition system in a future expansion.

..and Hyrri's Demise isn't listed there, so I'm assuming it's from the endgame map bosses, as mentioned in that quote.

Damn, thats what I get for reading the patch notes at 4 in the morning, before going to work. Thanks for the confirmation.
looking forward to play this. enjoyed FP totems and in LE played totems as well so this will suit me playstyle a lot :D
Is Precise Technique worth it before getting high crit?

Can't decide between this and EA balistas, going to drive me crazy.

Can't imagine so, even at low gear levels critical strikes should be giving us more than 40% more damage.
Hi Wallach and all

Gonna league start this build in 3.17, but was wondering - with the big buff to bow damage, would it be possible to actually level with Siege Ballista from the beginning (level 12) using whetstone+rustic sash recipe, to get constant upgrades to get high damage bows and perhaps get lucky with some good quivers as well during the campaign, or will the damage still be too lackluster?

Im not too keen on going totem route first, and then respeccing, but what do you think?

Thanks for the guide and all the comments in the thread, really hyped for 3.17 becuse of this thread (and the cool changes to the atlas, of course)

I think the biggest issue is until you get rain of splinters you will be forced to run lmp / gmp or shoot only 1 arrow so that might tank either your damage or your clear especially when on 4-link while levelling.

You might be also lacking dex early if you don't have the str -> dex jewel to actually level with any dex skill.

If you don't wanna level with totem, I'd go something along the lines of freezing pulse -> orb of storms -> storm brand -> armageddon brand. But HFT + flame wall + filler skill into armageddon brand is fairly comfy levelling.

Thanks for the reply! :)

Yeah, I can see. But what if I, since I dont get ancestral bond, and can go south on the levelling tree faster, use i.e Ice Shot to help deal damage (and freeze stuff?) along side the ballistas?

Or would another bow skill be better than Ice shot?

Uff, btw, just forgot, its gonna be a hassle getting the Siege Ballista gem at level 12 as a Templar (and Ice Shot, for that matter), Since I dont want to wait till act 3 Siosa... :/

Tbh if you can get the skill gems I'd say best levelling is gonna be either toxic rain or explosive arrow (you can stack self-cast part with ballista part on those skills and they don't need much to work, I think on recent race events EA hiero was quite popular).
Marks are permanent on bosses now. Is it even worth to have Sniper's Mark in a 6-Link now? You could just cast it unlinked or even apply it via weapon swapping once per boss fight
