Odif's Budget Fire Burst Elementalist Autobomber, Mini Guide with PoB

This is a PoB snapshot of my level 90 Flame Burst Elementalist Autobomber.
I watched several different youtube flame burst videos, and took something from each, to make this version.

Required for this budget build:
A staff with Fire Burst
(Try to get one with a free prefix to bench craft more damage)
Blackflame Ring
Berek's Respite Ring
A level 3 enlighten
A helm with EITHER 15% anger reserved, or 15% malevolence reserved, or 30% herald of thunder reserved LAB ENCHANT.

As of May 20.
The rings run 70-80c each.
A staff is about 50c.
A helm with those enchants is 5-50c depending on how much life and resists you get on it.
Enlighten level 3 is about 15c.

That's all you need to get started, you can upgrade as you get currency. Cluster jewels are optional, they add a lot of dps. In the PoB i have budget ones, the mediums only cost 30c each.


I use Blackflame to make mobs take chaos damage from ignites.
This allows us to use Anger aura, since we dont have to worry about messing up EE. Flame Burst has a 340% multiplier on added damage, so Anger is crazy good.

I have Withering Step on left click autocasting to put 6 wither stacks on enemies. It also gives movespeed and defense.

I have wither on the cast bar, but I almost never use it.
In maps, I cast storm brand once to get the autobomber going, run thru the maps never pushing any buttons except flasks.
On bosses I put down a storm brand.

That's it.

This is "budget", nothing cost me more than 1 ex each, the staff is garbage.

Dps is weak for something like Maven, but for running through maps its amazing.
(With investment you can take Fire Burst up past 10 mill dps, but I have not done that.)

I have cooldown reduction on boots AND belt, which really helps zoom clear. (optional)

I don't use Replica Emberwake, which would MASSIVELY increase dps, but is very expensive. Also it frees up a ring slot for Berek's Respite. Also Replica Emberwake shortens the duration of the ignite too much for my dps level. This way I can run thru a legion, and everything unlocks with a single ignite (my ignites last 6 seconds right now)

This allows me to use Bereks Respite ring, to spread ignites and shocks 2 screens away. So I can use a rare boots with cooldown reduction instead of Aberath's Hooves.

Biggest change is 3 awakened gems that nearly doubled the dps.
(Cost, 80c, 1.5 ex, 2.2 ex, respectively)

Dps is now at the point that, as the witch says, "Everything DIES!"

What if you want to level this way?

Flame Totem + Firewall --> Armageddon Brand Ignite --> Fire Burst

Go fire burst when you can afford the staff, and when you have cruel lab done.
(The Ignite and Shock nodes)

It is possible for a staff to have Fire Burst and be usable at level 50.
(Cost goes way up if you want one usable at level 50.)

If you get one of those, the rest of the campaign is trivial, as that's mapping damage at level 50.

Playstyle is Absurd.

Zoom thru maps, everything dies.
Every once in a while, circle back, because you ran so fast, you outran the .74 sec cooldown on fire burst.


In ults, lay down 3 storm brands, start it up. Never cast again till its done.
Keep flasks up, run in circles at high speed.

On bosses, lay down one storm brand, run in circles at high speed.

Did a quick respec to this, low level gems poorly optmised etc... wow it FLYS through maps!

How would you scale the damage to absurd levels? More cluster jewels?

What I did....(In the order I did them)
I bought budget cluster jewels.
I bought jewels with 4 flat damage mods
I bought jewels with 3 "increased" damage mods
I bought 3 awakened support gems
I bought boots and belt with cooldown recovery.

See the level 92 PoB on the second page for that state.
At that point the damage is more than enough for mapping.

If you want the super expensive 10+ mill dps ignites for killing Maven, you need to go a different route, pure fire damage, no Blackflame ring, use Replica Eberwake and go EE.

But why bother? Its NOT supposed to be an endgame boss killer, its SUPPOSED to be a fast mapper.
And it is, as is, as you have discovered, insane map clears.

Levelling a version of this now - just equipped a low req staff at lvl 50 and unsurprisingly it melts everything!

I was just going to run a low budget version, but then I thought I'd see how it goes with a bit more gear.

Bought this


Craft needs swapping (too low on Vaals to do it yet!) and I might actually throw essences at it and re-roll the whole thing eventually. Losing block isn't ideal, but hey, softcore things.

Plan is also to go anomalous withering step, plus enhance lvl 4, and use this helm (Again, when rolled)



Should be instantly getting 10/11 wither stacks.

Enlighten lvl 4 should be enough to handle reservation, if mana is too tight I'll roll helm with mana reservation, or try and run auras in +1 corrupt gloves.

Rest of it I'll figure out as I go - probably run a second cluster setup. Not sure if I can get any kind of additional defences running.

No, although it seems like it should.

With blackflame ring, you DO fire damage, but the mobs TAKE chaos damage, so its fire damage over time that buffs it, but lowering enemy chaos resist also buffs it.

Very counter intuitive.
