Just had this happen, had to hard reset PC. Am on Vulkan with 1660ti, 16GB Ram, Ryzen 5 3600x, windows 10. lemme know if any other info might help. Tried task manager, command prompt, and closing steam. Will try to play on DX11 instead as others have suggested and see if that prevents it. Hope this is fixed soon.

6+ times today it's happened to me.
can't end process because windows says there is no process. |

This one's happening constantly now this patch. I'd say every ten to fifteen maps. It hangs so bad I can't even just restart the computer, I have to hard shut it off by holding the button even though the rest of the computer works fine, just because Path of Exile itself refuses to terminate no matter what. My friend is also having this identical issue. We are both using the standalone client.
EDIT: Oh wow, the game is almost completely unplayable on DX. I tried, it stutters every few seconds, it has terrible FPS. I don't have a poor computer, and Vulkan runs well. Is there any news on this subject? I am even afraid to play the game at the moment. Because having to force shut off my computer feels so bad.
And playing on DX11 is just impossible. | |

i am getting strange crashes 2+ times every hour sometimes alot more, all the graphics go to hell and it just freezes and closes to desktop.
(colours all bleed and everything turns into coloured lines) i have had no previous problems with these sorts of crashes and my drivers are up to date. I'm using vulkan but i can not switch back to dx11 at all as when i try the game crashes, even in the main login screen. vulkan has always been the smoothest play experience for me also. " I haven't had a crash since that post, I doubt disabling the overlays fixed it though, pretty sure I just haven't played for long enough since, I think it took ~5 hours for it to happen to me the other day. Might be worth trying anyway if people in the thread are still playing with Vulkan. Edit: Not to interested in continuing this league so probably won't end up getting another dump until I play again, just in case it provides more info this is the full stack trace from the first dump I mentioned
