After crashing can't close the program even through task manager.

So i have had this happen twice where the game crashes and can't recover but will not be close no matter what I try. I had to actually shut the power off after trying to restart my computer because it doesn't know how to close the game. The first time it happened was in town of act 6 a few moments after entering it, the second time was on the way out of a heist after getting the object to steal. I have a intel I5 and GTX 1660, any other info needed let me know.

Possible temp solution
So me and 2 other people besides me have seen some success with switching from vulcan to DirectX, one person mentioned also switching to windowed from Full/Borderless also may help but I was fine with Borderless myself.

3.15 Update
I don't know if it was one of the many changes for performance since the mid to end of last league but I can now run the game on Vulcan without it crashing and being un-closeable. Have had one crash so far and nothing went wrong with it so looks like the problem might be solved for some.

I encountered the same problem it happens when you are in Fullscreen mode.

No nothing helps but restarting the pc, I can not enter anything it blocks everything even task manager. If I play in windowed fullscreen it just freezes and I can close it.

I resinstalled the game, even deleted the MyGames file cleaned everything up cause of the occuring errors yesterday. After that it worked and I went to lvl 12.

New Patch today and I freeze again after 10-20 sec .... I don't want to reinstall the game everytime when a new patch comes...

the Paycheck says everything is in sync ... sadly it wasn't that.

I can see it in the task manager but it will not allow me to end the task. I also tried running cmd prompt as admin and used taskkill but it told me there was no instance of the program running even though it was still frozen in the back. The only message i receive is from windows saying the task in not responsive.

Same issue, any fix for this? Game Crashes no error, can't exit game or end task, it also makes pc takes long to restart if manually restarted from start menu..

My issue occured in Borderless Fullscreen.

Program stops responding, task manager doesn't do anything, taskkill/kill via command line (administrative) does nothing, specifically taskkilll /pid <id> responds with no process with that ID.

I think on the first crash I experienced like this going to detail view in task manager and trying to kill from there said I did not have permissions.

I don't think these will help since windows event viewer shows the error description as "Unknown" but here are the Security & Maintenance Logs:
