[3.14] Odif's Old Obsolete Skel Mage Guide, New one is in a new thread

I'm trying to build defensive MoM/agnostic version this time, so far looking good, even if league economy is really strange. My advice - just farm ultimatums on the tier you are able to finish it to the end, lots of good stuff there. I'm currenty stuck at T13 anyway, cant progress atlas anymore, building map pool.

Mostly self found/crafted gear so far, thats why i'm over resisted like crazy (200/200/100 :-) ), it will be fixed when i'll start to buy dex/chaos/minion gear.

i'm also building a MoM/Agnostic version similar to you above, thanks i got a lot of tips from you! :)

I feel it's pretty strong t1 to t16

Couple of things I want to tweak/add in I think without totally changing build or getting much more expensive.

- Get an additional curse somehow and run snipers mark. Either just self cast or add to trigger wand (Not ideal with cooldown, but lazy)
- Put signal prey in skele links. Sometimes we want to force fire nasty mobs. With Snipers mark it will also wipe out any trash nearby.
- Add in a cluster jewel. Will leave till I can roll/buy a good large cluster.

Hi, I'm new player and i like this build very much so far. Could someone answer few noob questions?

1. Should I cast desecrate + bone offering everytime? Or i should use desecrate only if there are no corpses around (begining of farming, boss fight)?

2. Should I cast storm brand once at the pack and recast it when it dissappear, or just spam it?

3. What modifiers should I look for on weapon and what base is the best (wand? scepter?)

4. Is it matter in that build what weapon I equip at main hand and what at offhand?
Can I change from SRS build to Skeleton mage, im lvl 68 and i dont like popcorn SRS, I know i just started doing maps but idk, it doesn't seem my style so I was wondering if its worth to switch to this build?

ad 1 - prefered way is with trigger wand. Manually casting, i'd probably only cast Desecrate, hoping for best... :-)

ad 2 - i cast it all the time, as i have nothing else to do anyway

ad 3 - +2 convocation wand with other minion mods is BIS. You can get just increased minion dmg on other things (Temple drop for example).

I’m running two curses using hex touch and Profane Proxy. With the resistances on PP I’m able to maintain full resistances. Elemental Weakness is mandatory. Right now I run it on the PP. The skitterbot applies it everywhere. The additional benefit of the skitterbot application is that the monsters are extremely easy to see when they’re cursed.

The second curse, only applied when I cast through hex touch via storm brand is enfeeble in a search for damage mitigation, although I’m open for better suggestions. The issue I see with sniper’s mark is it’s singularity and lasting on the one character till it dies. It would be useful if you could tag the boss first and forego using storm brand until you get a clear shot, which delays the application of EE. If you’re using the Fleshcrafter armor, you don’t need the EE cast, which makes snipers mark a more selective option depending on your casting skill. I’ve got a 6 socket Fleshcrafter, which I’m trying to link lacking the currency to buy one fully linked.

I have a question regarding EE.

Since we are getting a mix of Skeleton Mages (Lightning/Fire/Cold), and we (or at least I) summon the mages first, since they shoot screenwide and the Storm brand later, how dows the game decide that Stormbrand is the one the enemies get +25% resistances?
