First pure armour soaks a hit with a formula then that new figure takes 90% Phys reduction into account and divides the new post-armour soaked hit by 90%. The. A further mitigation of fortify and any other extended mitigation you have.
Just simulate high damage hits in pob and see how your physical damage reduction changes. It isn't constant 90% regardless of how hard hit is. It would be if it didn't depend on armour. If you had 50 endurance charges (just random number for sake of example) youd cap out your phys reduction at 90% even with 0 armor. Buf if it is lower value, let's say 50% (from basalt flask, few endurance charges, fortify other buffs), then armour mitigates the rest and it varies, for big hits it is less effective.

I don't understand, we get 90% reduction purely from armour them the fortify applies a second layer.
Eg. Armour/10 is the biggest hit pure armour can mitigate 90% of the damage. So if we get hit for 15k pure physical damage but have 150k armour then you will mitigate 90% of that hit making the hit 1.5k with fortify and other added layers soaking from there. So just with fortify the hit will be 1.2k
The wiki is very confusing though.
Tldr as long as you have 10x the armour of the hit, you're good?
Right now sitting with 157 mana leftover with divergent prevision at lvl 13. Even after that's leveled where does the extra mana go? aspect of the spider? or did I just go overboard to the medium clusters and don't need that many? Right now I'm running 12 auras + aspect of the avian. I can actually still fit in skitterbots as long as I keep my precision at level 13 or less and still have like 12 mana left over to dash...
some questions:
1) on poe.ninja the other 5 or so people I see playing this build shows them having 3 frenzy, 3 power, and 3 endurance charges. As of right now I have 1 power and 1 endurance charge - where do the rest come from?
2) what should my upgrade priority list be? I know I need:
- new amulet (I dunno how tf I ended up +1 dex gems, I swear to god it was int gems when I awakener orbed it?!? Only thing I can think of is it was +1 dex gems and +int above it and my brain somehow melded the two together)
-awakened minion dmg and awakened brutality
- new unset ring (quickly made this with leftover essenses laying around so I could get aspect of the avian on to test my mana)
- helm enchant on helm (none on market at the moment for carrion golem buff)
- new watcher's eye with relevant mods
- elegant hubris with 3 minion dmg nodes? only thing with that is if I did that I'd have to unspec one of the medium cluster jewels to get enough points. Dunno which one you would take out to do that
- is double renewal/rotten claws/vicious bite large clusters the ideal cluster setup? seemed to be some debate about that
have about 100-130ex worth of gear to sell from the old build to give some idea about budget.
3) is bottled faith not really needed for this build? have one from my old build but don't see the handful of people on poe.ninja using it...
bumping these questions...
also how do I see how much increased effect of auras I have in POB? cant seem to find it. Sorry I'm a POB noob... https://pastebin.com/BprV4Zfm
im still learning this build myslef, so i dont want to give out some wrong info, but as far as i can tell, u got some pretty good ones.
As for aura mod %, u can go to calc tab, then selcct one of your active auras, it should bring out some more detail charts directlly below, in the top middle you should see your aura %
thx for the response. I see that now on POB. I'm looking for the 300%/400% increased effect of aura break points everyone keeps mentioning tho. Where can I find that anyone?
absolutely loving this build so far. Just ran some 60% deli fully juiced up t16s and zani deli trop islands with nemesis/beyond fully juiced face tanking everything no problem. Old build would die a ton of times on those maps. Also AFKed elder deathless. This thing is an absolute beast.

For charges do you have 2 host chieftain and 2 carnage chieftain? They provide the charges.
Rmr is a big thing and getting all the right gems.
Clusters getting you over 337% aura effect should be quite easy too. Work on regen....get a nice +1 int and 6% rmr marble amulet.
Check out the helm I'm wearing (unfinished but bought the base for 8ex then slammed an elder helm for 4.5ex including orb)
Then I slammed about 20 perfect fossils to get 30% quality and then 20 enchanted fossils to hit a decent spectre enchant.
I'm not a fan of spamming labs..eventuate I will make +3 to minions, LVL 20 hypo, LVL 20 minion damage on it.
Elegant hubris is a money sink...so sort out aura effect and other stuff first. For watchers eye either get 2.5% es regen while affected by discipline or 10% of max mana gained as max es while affected by clarity. (If you use clarity)
The vicious bites are expensive and I wouldn't worry about it..just get cheap voices to cap out medium clusters. I am running 7 mediums and 2 voices.
Yes bottled faith is worth it....I just haven't bought one yet.
Selling my old chest if anyone wants a good one. Price is 150ex (I sold my last worst T2 aura effect one for 165ex)

thank you for the detailed response sir
I dont have the chieftains which would make sense for the charges. The confusing thing though - on poe ninja when I sort by 6 link spectres it's showing those characters with the 3/3/3 charges. Considering you only get 4 spectres seems super unlikely they're using half of them for the charges?
Ya I hate running lab... I think I'll probably wait to upgrade out of an alpha howl till later on considering seems like a pretty big investment. Thanks for detailing how to craft tho, def will keep that for reference.
I actually have a +3 lvl 20 minion dmg/ lvl 18 hyno bone helmet that I put up for sale last night. I thought the hypno would be useless since we're not running triads and conversion? Am I missing something?
Which flask would you drop for the bottled faith?

If you have 100k armour and get hit for 10k phys damage, armour will mitigate 50% of that hit.
So basically you need to have 100x armour vs the hit to mitigate 90%
In example you need 1mil armour to have 90% mitigation vs 10k hit.

How do we facetank Mino with 4kes then?
I think the proof is in the gameplay and definitely more effective with smaller hits.
I have never felt more Tanky than I do with this build in my last 10 builds.
Even with 4k es.

The charges stack so even with 2 of each they keep producing them.
They also likely have victarios shield or a rare perm minimum 2/2 power/frenzy shield with necromancer's aegis notable on passive tree.
You could chuck it up for sale, if it's a bone helmet atleast 8ex just for a base...hubris circlet I'm not sure.
Honestly I haven't really used flasks since going this build...so have whatever flasks you want lol.
