" EB (MoM) requires 4(+1) = 5, plus as you discovered, MoM is the optimal Corrupted Soul placement. In any game it is mostly a bad idea to try and scale anything using reactive mechanics (e.g. block - it is dependent on monsters hitting you.) The average monsters attack speed just don't scale as competitively as player cast/attack speeds. There are janky builds that make enemies attack faster - but why bend over backwards over a simple resource issue? It could make more sense to just use a Cinderswallow Urn with ES on kill restored for easy mapping. As a matter of fact, ditch the whole EB thing entirely, the opp cost is so high (5 points is HUGE) for minor QoL. You could just Cinderswallow mana and have 5 (+ all the pathing points for another keystone) unlocked.) I think you may be OOMing only with 4 brands pumping. Can't catch that for sure. On bosses my mana stopped running down to 0. All right, time to do the math. At least for our current Conc Effect-Horror Helms, it's 60 mana for a VD, and 33 for a Desecrate. 93 * 3.9 = 362.7 mana regen required per second. Don't forget mana costs from Cyclone and its triggers (WoC / Flammability / Bone Offering.) So if you hit anywhere near 400 mana per sec, all the mana problems disappear. If you h ave 4 brands out, that doubles to 800 mana per sec, but packs die so fast you get to "full tank" in between each tank, which gives you a buffer to work with. An enduring Divine Mana Flask restores about 115mp/s. That brings me from 205 to 320. That's why I've stopped feeling the pinch on bosses. Also, my mana flask has the "of efficiency mod" - dropping all mana costs by 13% during the flask effect, which is pretty huge considering it's up all the time even for mapping. If you are sorely bugged by mana costs, there are boot enchants that give tons of mana regen on casting a spell. But none of it really warrants a EB MOM setup. Final offer: use a Transformer Staff which grants EB to gems socketed inside the staff ONLY. You can put your Desecrate Brand here - voila, that's 40% of your mana expenditure now on EB instead. (EDIT: With Flask reduction and other reduced cost on tree available I now have 48 + 26 mana cost = 74 * 3.9 = 288.6 mana required per second, per 2 brands. Yeah there’s a reason I used devouring diadem for EB instead of pathing to it. Feast of flesh also helps with Es regen so maybe that explains why I don’t run out.

How does wicked ward help leech? Are you thinking of something else? In my
Current setup wicked ward wouldn’t help at all. |

Hmm, that's some interesting maths, Primaeva, it might not be worth it if I manage to get a hold of those boots enchants and setup my flask with mana reduced (I currently have cast speed xD) + a Cinderswallow.
But I wouldn't be able to make use of the Devouring Diadem, I am using a Scepter and Shield and need at least a 5L for my Cyclone, which I wouldn't have if I had to put my VD Brand on the armor. I'll look into removing EB tomorrow, but I must say it does feel very comfortable with it atm, I'll have to see how it goes with your suggestions :) I've played with the PoB all day and managed to double my current damage (both spell and corpse explosions) which feels way better on bosses, even though I am not totally there yet (missing 3 lvls still) Here would be the PoB without EB: https://pastebin.com/1c6UHeyC, I'll definitely try that tomorrow. Also, using diadem and corpse walker kind of sucks because you lose so many rare mods. Definitely going to drop the corpse walker boots. If lifetap supports works well I’ll drop diadem too.
