[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

OK borrowing heavily from the two wonderful POB's posted above me, I think this will be my baseline (see end for POB).

This is set at an achievable level 96.

Note that even though these numbers look really good, they will look even better when all is updated:

*Missing Determination Buff
*Missing Spell Block and Damage from Safeguard
*Missing the level 5 goodies from our awakened gems

My small changes to the POB:

1) Removed Enlighten entirely and moved Defiance Banner to its socket (this alleviates the need for an Unset ring which gives us more options when gearing)

2) Removed Void Sphere entirely. This is now an open socket but I don't yet know what to use. At worst I can plug in Portal I guess.

3) Swapped out the Megalomaniac jewel (which may not even exist next league depending on rolls) and used those points to grab Explosive Impact which gives us a lot of damage and access to an important Fire Mastery

4) Traded VRF for Vaal Haste because I am too nervous to use VRF :) I only level VH to level 8. If you use this method, level it to what ever dex you have in the build. Do not get extra dex just to level VH. It still provides good DPS even at low levels.

With Dodge removed from the game, does any know what the Forbidden Taste flask looks like now? I could not find the info in the Patchnotes but I may have missed it.

ok found it. Looks like all Quartz flasks got 10% Spell Suppression instead of the old dodge.
Just a noob asking what you guys think about Disciple of the slaughter instead of Swagger?
Gets us frenzy from kills instead with 8% chance, but gives +1 frenzy charge and inc. dmg per frenzy.
The thread of hope is a big boon to this build, glad you guys like it :)

Another thought I had about this build is if we can fit in Tempest Shield (which supposedly gives a tonne of spell block, which gets doubled by glancing blows).
You could run TS + Hextouch + Curses to shock and curse instead of the retaliation thing, maybe thats better as there's not need for a melee hit for fortify anymore.
We would have to drop Arctic Armor / Herald of Ash for it, but you'd likely need barely any points on the tree for max spell block. Could be worth it?

Yea very nice call on the Thread of Hope!

As for the Tempest Shield, no numbers have been shown yet on how much block we will be getting. Might be good to add yea.
Also, the new Purity of Elements looks so nice... ^^

If you want to map exclusively, then yes Disciple of the Slaughter is better for damage than Swagger. You will lose the endurance charges though.

But the big issue is that you won't get frenzy charges when fighting big single targets, which tends to be when require our max damage more than mapping.

Swagger will also struggle to geenerate charges against single target but it at least has some chance to proc where there is no chance for Disciple of Slaughter against single targets because there i no on kill effect.

I think we do have the TS block numbers from the patch notes.

Tempest Shield has been reworked to become a 25% Reservation Effect that provides a large amount of Spell Block as well as an Immunity to Shock. It no longer has “+3% Chance to Block Attack Damage while holding a Shield”. It now has “+18% Chance to Block Spell Damage while holding a Shield” at gem level 1, up to +25% at gem level 20 (previously +3% at all gem levels).

25% is massive because that gets doubled by Glancing Blows. But we give up Arctic Armor which is freeze immune and extra fire defense. Lets see what the tree looks like with the extra points we don't need to spend in spell block.

If we can save enough points and get good use out of them, this would be an interesting trade. TS also gives immune to shock which is a nice bonus until we can squeeze Herald of Purity into the build with Aul's amulet.

Ah yea!

25% is massive... Maybe with some investment in more mana efficiency...

I have my Std char ready to experiment on ^^

oh, I did not even think of trying to squeeze it in with our other auras. I think though you would very likely have to bring Enlighten back into the build to make that work.

I took a quick peak at the tree and I think we can save around 5 points if we use TS for our Spell Block.

I did not at first see anything specific that would be useful to plug those into but then I realized that those 5 points could be used on a second medium cluster jewel (since I removed megalomaniac from the build in my POB).

This opens up two main choices:

*We could get a medium cluster to help reduce how much mana Discipline and Determination take up (Uncompromising and Self Control). This may allow us to add in TS without having to give up AA/HOA

*Get a second channeling medium cluster (which I believe stacks) for a little more damage

I like the idea of squeezing in TS if we can do it with out an Enlighten. But we need to wait for more updates to POB to test some of these ideas out.
