WoD I just looked at your gear (via the "MY GEAR" link in the guide) and... the gems don't really match up to the guide ! :(
For instance, I can't see Hatred gem. Temporal Chains has Blasphemy and Enfeeble (blue) not Enhance (green) - I know the guide said Enhance is a drop-only optional. Summon Golem has Maim and Flesh & Stone instead of Generosity.
So I'm kinda confused! Partly because all these socket colour changes mean that I'd have to find or buy the gear again :(

I took a break from this build to try the "unkillable" ED Trickster and it's pretty decent but it can't really delve very well and I've already spent a fair bit on the gear. So I came back here to look at my zombie guy and...
His gear is soooo bad!!! But he still managed to delve deeper than the trickster with almost no resists (versus trickster 75% elemental and 1% chaos).
So now I have a better idea how trade works I'm thinking that if I get some res gear this build can probably farm up enough currency to get a lot better. I have 8c (and a lot of chromatic orbs) so I think I'll do what I did on the trickster ans get some decent belt and jewellery to get resists up and move on from there. If that sounds dumb, please shout! I think it's pretty much what the experienced posters told me to do a while ago but I tried to do it all via crafting and never got much above 0 resists - should have gone a-trading!
This guide has that one problem - the gear section says "anything you like" for almost every slot. So it leaves us a bit in the dark as to what "good" looks like (or "ok" or "decent").
But now I know a bit more (learned the hard way) I think I'm going to trade my way towards playing this guy again. It's a nice discussion forum too! :D
Yes, I see that as well, Wrecker, can you slap something together for a proper link? All my Necros are end game modded, however you could look at my characters for a reference. JessicaHasNastyFriends dominated Blight and killed Uber Elder and SophiaMorphsIntoChaos had fun in Metamorph league with her naughty SRS hungry loop ring ;)
The last 4 or 5 pages of forum have had nice discussions on gear optimization for low/mid level mapping. If you have specific questions, shoot.
Everyone plays her differently, some play standard, some SSF, so your going to get a different answer no matter who you ask. Even my friend Dwaine who normally won't stray from the guide is using shield charge supported with fortify and added lightning, and he has a cluster jewel!
I swap enhance for specters because, well specters just make GREAT supports and they get FULLY supported from the tree. I'm a charge guy, wherever I can get any charges I am in! The ape specters keep the zombies, skeletons AND witch charged up so I like that more than a beefier temp chains. Temp chains is sooooo awesome even unsupported!
I also MUST use a movement skill, so I broke the ball lightning CWDT link.
I put arc in with CoH enfeeble and use flame dash in place of CWDT. It just works for me.
Hope I didn't confuse you more! She is a great starter, perfect right off the beach, gets better in maps, and with proper gear choices handles the end game well!
EDIT: make your characters public, click Logged in as NAME in top left of forum screen, mid right of next screen click privacy settings, uncheck hide characters. Then we can REALLY help!

But partly that's because I could get away with it for so long!
We did the Pale Court because that is one of Dwaine's favorite grabs!
You could all do that because it is mostly chaos damage.
It's a prophecy chain worth pursuing, it's fun.
You do each of these chains and get a piece of the map.
Eber, the Plaguemaw
Inya, the Unbearable Whispers
Yriel, the Feral Lord
Volkuur, the Unbreathing Queen
Then you fight all 4 bosses in an arena, 1 at a time, the other 3 sit in shields.
We got the 2 ex craft "Can have up to 3 Crafted Modifiers"
Someday I will have the exalts, crafting knowledge and a good base to try this on! Oh well, it's a fun fight and it's a good damage check as well.
Honestly Wrecker, if i wouldn't have found your guide, we probably would have quit 1.5 years ago! Thanks again!

Naaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh, not here, not too much.
Read through the discussion and find the big takeaways.
Focus on adding +70 life minimum to everything you put on from here on out.
Find a good resistance balance and include Chaos, it matters now.
Follow the tree and your minions will carry you through!
Grab a big dex or strength node if attributes are preventing you from upgrading gear... I have used 3 30 dex nodes on a character already!
6 link main for zombies is your chest, you'll need at least 100 life and everyone makes her an energy shield fiend so shoot for 300 es and some resistances. This will matter by T8 yellow maps, you're going to need survivability from that chest!
You sounded poor in game so you need to learn how all those orbs work.
Read their descriptions and you can make wonderful things happen with all the garbage that drops around you.
something white drops with appealing colors and links? Quality it to 20 and throw an essence, chance or alchemy orb at it. You may just solve all your problems in 1 orb!
Find a convoking wand, throw orbs at it. for now throw an orb at your wand.
Carry no white items unless they are going to the vendor!

It's always a pleasure. You're both observant and correct (and kind! Thank you!).
I always play according the guide unless I'm testing something out for the next iteration of the guide. In this case you're looking at what the 3.11 Slow-Mo Zombies may look like. The essence of the build is very similar but it has a lot more survivability to it. So don't bother changing anything to my setup. Follow the guide.
I recently revamped my RF guide and have been gauging the responses to it. So far it's been positive. One of the changes I made there was a section that showed my "Dream Mods" for each piece of gear within the build. It seems to be helpful and worth the effort it took to add. Just at the beginning of this week I decided that the "test version" of the RF guide layout was good enough to implement to the rest of the guides. So I'll be doing that in my spare time as the league drags on. So depending on how much free time I get, I hope that they'll be done within a couple weeks.
In terms of gear, simply look for really high health and resists. To keep it simple, only worry about minion damage mods on your Convoking Wand. A Bone Helmet with lots of life is sweet too. If you get the +2 to minion gems mod, that's even sweeter! But honestly, just really high life and resists.

Just did Atziri for my first time ever today. She killed me 5 times but I finally got the B(word) on my 6th go. I had to go and summon a few more zombies for the last attempt as she had managed to kill 3.
What a fun fight. And I'm guessing she is considered easy? Looking forward to harder bosses.

I'd love to have a separate character for each league, but I don't have the time to play that many characters for each guide each league. Unfortunately when I need to test something out for a guide, I only have the ability to do it with the existing character. That being said, besides the gems, the tree and the gear are exactly the same. (It was a sad day when I replaced the +1 to zombies on my chest.)
