Cold ANIMATE WEAPON Summoner | League-Start & Leveling Guide
Hi, is there anything you could recommend upgrading with limited currency that would provide the best bang for my buck? My current budget is around 50c

" Rough order of upgrades, should be able to do a good # of these with 50c: Shield: either get a rare with +1 phys gems and +life (expensive), or Lioneye's / Ahn's for a bunch of armor and better defenses (cheap) All the jewelry could be upgraded - Rings with added minion damage, and an open suffix to craft minion move speed Amulet with +1 to gem levels, suffix for minion move speed - or for better defenses, The Jinxed Juju After getting a decent amulet, anoint Ravenous Horde onto it Cluster jewel - get an 8 or 9 passive one, fill it out to get the sockets there, and fill with Fortress Covenant / Quickening Covenant jewels. " I made some edits and posted a new POB, check it out! |

" Really feel the fire-variant is stronger - 33k physical ehp really screams "touch me once and I fall over", I rather have less DPS but survive a single flicker from a teeny-tiny spider. | |
" You could swap out Skitterbots for Determination, have a CWDT-Immortal Call setup, and an Enduring Composure small cluster jewel and it will be a lot more tanky. After playing both, I think the defensive benefits of cold (freezing/chilling enemies, shattering corpses) is just better than fire, and DPS is pretty close to the same. Do you recommend swapping to the Chaos version for the super-late game? It's said the Chaos version is stronger overall, but more expensive.

" The chaos version gets a bit higher DPS from using United in Dream and Ancient Skull. It's also a CI build, which is an advantage for stuff like Simulacrum with a lot of random chaos damage. (You could do a CI cold version of my build too, I just prefer to be life-based). Basically it has higher DPS, but there are QOL downsides. - Using United in Dream in the weapon slot is a core item, but means there is no triggered-skill wand available. You'll have to self cast Desecrate, Flesh Offering, and Assassin's Mark and in combination with Convocation, Bladefall and Animate Weapon, that is just a LOT of buttons to press. The clear speed will be worse, even if DPS is higher. If your goal is to farm Simulacrums, chaos version is the way to go. It might also be a better bosser due to more top-end DPS (though they're both very high). I think my version is more relaxing to play because it can automate more of the skills. Fewer buttons to use so less stress and better clear speed. Last edited by ThanatoZGaming on Jan 29, 2022, 6:07:07 PM

Thank you for the reply. I was indeed looking for a build that was relatively cheap, fun, easy to play, and relied on minions. So this seems perfect. I also like cold more than chaos anyway. Path of Exile can become really tedious when there are too many skills to use.
Back in the day I played Golemancer with raise spectres. I honestly don't understand why they nerfed it so badly, especially since most strong minion builds seem to use Necromancer-type minions. That's a theme I don't like too much, which is why I've been playing Last Epoch lately. I'm also looking out for a good totem build as a second character. That's the next best thing, I suppose :) |

Honestly the chaos version was the best build I've played in a long time. The author isn't the best but with some tweaking it's a really solid build.
I'm looking forward to this one, gonna try it out in SSF. thanks for the guide! |
