Cold ANIMATE WEAPON Summoner | League-Start & Leveling Guide

I got rekt by Awakener 4 pretty bad. I'm not even close to being new to PoE, but it seems the build lacks a lot of defence. :(

Only times I died on awakener 4 were when I failed to find Sirius to dodge "DIE" (four pew pew lasers).

Most builds cant tank the stuff Ive died to.
Any alternative spectres preferably offensive ones and might use curses if I replace my shield with Victario's Charity?
My profile is public, I was hoping to get someone to review my character and see why I don't seem to apply EE?

I have fire dmg on both rings.
I have chaos dmg or physical damage on all of my jewels.

I sort of wonder if it's because of the chaos damage but would like a second opinion.
Hi, you mention in your guide that Victario's Influence is an option for a body armor. I'm a big fan of auras, so I decided to go this route, leaning heavier into auras and using a staff for my weapon. The staff I landed on right now is Soulwrest. I'm curious what people's take is on this idea.

There seems to be some great stats given by this staff.

- a lot of flat physical damage to take advantage of the double dip by hatred
- an additional free 10 phantasms that also take advantage of 4/5 of the linked support gems we use for our animate weapons. [you summon 5 per flesh offering, so they are easy to maintain. Plus they take advantage of the inc duration]
- 100% upkeep of +5% life regen for you and your minions, to help with survivability.
- Cast speed and mana regen for QOL

I'm curious as to why there are only 5 builds on poeninja that take advantage of this staff. Is there a huge disadvantage that I am missing?

You have added fire damage to attacks. Bladefall is a spell, not an attack.

I don't think there's any huge downside, rather that the offensive stats are only so-so when compared to good rares one-handers. And, if you were looking to socket into a 6-link weapon, then having one with ...Supported by Maim/Fortify/whatever will be stronger.

Hello, I'm back after trying to figure out a way to stop dying that much and keep a decent damage with this build as cold conversion.

I think I finally find a way having 1million dps per weapon (max of 19), using a timeless jewell to get Divine flesh and a Rare shield with +2% to maximum chaos resistances I no longer get one shot and with Molten Shell I can face tank for a while some hits. Also using Bone Offering so I have 75% Block in attack damage and 52% to spells

Here is my PoB for the people interested: https://pastebin.com/vZmFg4vM
Is expensive but if you love the build and you want to push it into the end game content this can be legit way to do it.

Here are some changes I had that greatly increased my quality of life and ultimately my survivability.

First, I would try out the flasks that I run, as that seemed to have the most immediate impact. I have found that this build in the early stages requires a serious amount of flask management and I had to be ready in an instant, while constantly spamming my flasks and keeping them up the entirety of maps until I was able to get better gear. Be sure to upgrade them to 20% quality if you have not done so yet.

Flask 1: 'Blood of the Karui Sanctified Life Flask'
Flask 2: Any DMG flask, i prefer a sulfur flask with a nice affix.
Flask 3: (This is what made a MASSIVE change for me in terms of survivability)
Try and get 'Rumi's Concoction Granite Flask'
Flask 4: 'Flagellant's Stibnite Flask of Curing [or Staunching]'
Flask 5: 'Seething Eternal Life Flask of Staunching [or Curing]'

You can run a speed increase flask instead of damage flask or get an affix on your damage flask. Another option is to get more gear with speed or certain procs that increase your movement speed, such as having your 'Animate Guardian' equipped with 'Victorio's Flight Goathide Boots'.

This leads me to my next point. If you have the currency, try and get the 'Garb of the Ephemeral' chest armour for your Animate guardian. It can allow you to avoid being crit or slowed.

Next, don't be afraid to grab a few extra +#% or +# Life Nodes/Jewels, it can make a huge difference. Try to find a balance that works based off what level you are, but it might be worth considering to lose a little bit of damage and clear speed temporarily for survivability until you get better gear.

Try to get 'Golem Commander', 'Minion Damage and Accuracy', and 'Spiritual Aid' Passive Nodes to allow you to get extra life temporarily as well. This may help make up for some of the damage you lost, without having to use more than a couple passive points to obtain them since they are very close to nodes you have already allocated.

At the bottom of the passive tree, you can continue past 'Juggernaut' passive node, and grab the extra life nodes that follow, leading to 'Diamond Skin', 'Warrior's Blood', and ultimately 'Heart of the Warrior'.

Oh, last thing for quality of life. Consider picking up 'Vaal Clarity', and potentially getting an Unset ring with resists/life and a socket you can use for it. It helps a lot with summoning your animate weapons even with low mana and no mana flask.

Anyways, I hope this helps and in no way am I suggesting that the OPs build isn't sufficient. I just figured I would throw ideas out there that helped me because in my personal case, my survivability was not enough.
man the higher I try to reach for those +lvls gears, the less hps I have and now I'm dying once every T16 maps :(

trying to fix things up but some tips would be appreciated other than getgud, currently sitting at 5k5 hp-ish and lv 90.

Several items missing life rolls or having relatively low amount added, by optimizing gear in that regard you could probably be closer to 6.2-6.5k HP which would help a bit.

At a certain point though you do just have to adapt your playstyle to be more defensive in the highest tier maps, or look for some of the specialized defensive setups other people have talked about here.
