[3.21] ShakCentral's Cold DoT Elementalist For Everyone

another dumb question, is the CI version actually using discipline as an active or just the vaal version of it for a defensive?
The CI gear + tree in PoB has uncapped resistances even though the rings have high value triple res. Where are we supposed to get more resistances with the CI version? Am I missing something?
IGN: Malacothrix
Would there be any downside to two people running this build side by side? S/O and I might play together this season and looking to do the same build

Nice guide! Which enchants are good besides Vortex dmg? I looked through the guide, sorry if I missed it. Thanks!

I'm hoping to get cooldown, but I'm also SSF so honestly I'll take the damage if I get it haha
What do you think about the new Hydrosphere skill? Does it have any potential to replace anything from the current skill setup?

I found enchants hard to come by for Vortex last league but damage or duration would be my picks. I found it easier to buy cheap Rime Gaze helms and corrupt them to find something nice for Cold Snap instead. I think I got this in around 20 tries (so 20-30c).

Just the Vaal version as a panic button, until you can switch to the shield and some clusters for auras with reduced mana reserve.
How is the single target damage on endgame bosses nowadays? I played vortex back in Metamorph and got really frustrated with low single target damage. Sirus or even t15+ bosses took forever to kill

I personally prefer the cooldown reduction one as it helps clear faster (but of course it's slightly less dps for bosses)

I always have it active, keeping vaal discipline for hairy situation as "panic" button (it rocks with Wicked Ward)

I never had issue with resists on the build. At the start you get resist a bit everywhere. At the end when you start min max and replace rares with uniques like mark of the shaper, you can get resists and stats on clusters small nodes. I often have 140-170 resists before I transition to mostly unique gear. With harvest, this should be an absolute non issue.

Vortex is not the best for that as only one vortex can be active. If you partner and you plant a vortex under the same boss, only one will have an effect. If you both want a chill (pardon the pun) experience, you can try vortex + storm brand (but others will be more helpful than me on that as I only play solo).
Hi, I'm planning on playing a vortex occultist for the 3.13 league start, but I am undecided between a normal vortex build such as yours, vs a coldslinger build? Could you explain the main differences and why I should choose either? Or does it not make too big of a difference? Thanks
