Tried some maps with this VF today:



Feels really good to be honest.

Clear is crazy good and the voidshots help with all the sh*t which Metas spawn.

Hi, love the build, been playing it on metamoprh and can't wait to start back from scratch on Delirium.

I'm just wondering why we don't grab Flash Freeze in the passive tree. Is cold damage not that good considering the build or do you just consider 2 points invested for 36% cold damage not worth it (not even counting chance to freeze, projectile speed and increased chill effect)?

Flash freeze is quite good, but we are starving on points, getting flash freeze means we either drop 1 frenzy node, or lose the ability to get other notables.

You could drop the jewel socket near point blank for it if you do not have a decent jewel.

Is there any way to fit in Farrul's Fur?

Thought about ditching the Green Nightmare.

Still a huge DPS loss..
I've been looking through all of the ice shot/ barrage builds on poeninja. Is it viable or better to wear a farruls fur and use voidfletcher, allowing frenzy/power charges charges to be gained during bosses? I am not familiar with how much voidshots add to your damage or if it makes up for not using a Hyrii's compared to a crafted quiver with the frenzy charge on crit chance. Is this ever more damage than a Hyrii's ire, or a Hyrii's with a good corruption like +1 gems? Is that going to be the best corruption to look for on the chest?

I also had some other gear questions: since we can now get elusive from our boots with the redeemer mod, is it still worth using withering step or better to get this mod on boots to allow something else to be gotten in the gem slots? How significant is being able to bypass the refresh duration?

A lot of the builds on poeninja also are using fractal thoughts with +1 barrage - is this the best in slot for character like this? It's absurdly expensive and seems like it would be good.

Compared to my Hyrris with +1 to AOE gems which i posted ealier the damage with farruls is significantly lower.

On the other side survivability is a tad better since I'm sitting at 4.5k with Farruls.

I still think more damage helps with survivability since you can skip boss phases. I will sell the Farruls again.

I also tried Raider Ascendancy in Path of Building but it is less damage.

Fractal Thoughts is BiS but at a hefty cost of having no resistances at all.
You need a really good Stygian and insane boots to make up for that.

If you want to use Voidfletcher go with Green Nightmare - it guarantees enough frenzy charges when you spec into "Survivalist" and place it accrodingly.

Isn't green nightmare just giving frenzy generation on kill though? That wouldn't help much on bosses that don't have ad spawns? I am just trying to figure out if voidshots make up the damage lost by not having max frenzy charges, or if it's just worse than the crafted rare quiver with voidshots calculated due to this. I want to try out and use a voidfletcher for once but I don't see how the frenzy generation on bosses is reliable with green nightmare unless I am missing something here. As suggested several pages back, ice bite support and blood rage are also on kill effects which is like the same issue during bossing.

Would using a weapon swap to a shield to with +2 minimum frenzy charges and swapping back be good? or would the best thing thing here just be to use the rare quiver in your swap with the frenzy on crit, gather charges, then swap back to voidfletcher in your main hand?

the trade off of voidfletcher is no frenzy charge at sirus, conq.

the damage from voidshot is not worth having full frenzy charges.

in maps voidfletcher is only good at bosses, since you one shot the screen before voidshot can explode.

You can use the swapping trick at sirus to generate frenzies, but i found it unneccesary.

3.10 first impression

New cluster jewel notables, the ones that can be good for us are:
Nature's Patience

20% MORE damage, and 10% LESS damage taken is very nice with a 5 second wind up.

Arcing Shot

Works very well with far shot but no effect at bosses since we stay at point blank. With barrage we want to be very close to not scatter arrows.

This could also be very good if we could manage to get it in range of the lioneye's fall. I have no idea if that will be possible though, I don't know how the jewels place themselves yet.
