[3.9] - VOC's 7 Curse BANE BLOOM Occultist (5EX - 25EX BUDGET) - GOOD STARTER

Good Day, VOC here,

I haven't made a build guide in a long time because the Curse support meta builds have been pretty consistent for quite a while.

In POE I ONLY play CURSE BUILDS, 90% of the time I only play support builds.

This league I wanted to mix it up because of power that the New global Prefix of "+2 - 3 to level of all chaos spell skill gems"

This allows for insane spell scaling of BANE and its supported curses.

This build can solo clear all Map and League Content and even do some bosses, while still being a highly desired Curse Support for party play.

This build is very strong for the Resetting/Support Role in 5-Army battles where I have already made over 170 EX in the first week of Blight.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT BUILD FLEXIBILITY

Currently as of 12/31/2019 My LIVE profile and gear is setup to SUICIDE BOMB T16 Metamorphs to speed farm Awakener / Metamorphs. This is a VERY SQUISHY but VERY FAST AND FUN high play tier version of this build. It also requires a bit more gear investment. In this style of play I die ON PURPOSE 2-4 times a map.

THIS ENDGAME STYLE OF PLAY IS NOT REALLY WHAT THIS GUIDE IS MAINLY FOCUSED ON

The main focus of this guide is gearing as I show in the Above and Below thread to make a FLEXIBLE 6-8 Curser who can EASILY swap between SOLO and PARTY play.

For that look to my threads above and below this one for gearing and tree examples.

For SOLO Play use a Corrupted or Double corrupted +3-+5 Chest for 6 link BANE with a high end staff with +2-+5 global levels of gems and chaos DOT multi. Run Malevolence + Discipline. The Skin of the Loyal will scale your discipline 100% and all other ES on gear from the 100% global defense mod. You should easily have 6500 (Life+ES). The Curses that matter for solo play are Enfeeble, TempChains, Despair, War/Ass/Poach Marks - so for soloing you only need 6 curses.

For GROUP play Change out some of the following;
- Support 7-8 curses
- Use a tanky helm like Memory Vault
- Possibly Swap out the chest for a 6L es chest ( you can buy them starting at 35 Chaos )
- Swap out staff for Defensive 1 Hander and an ES Shield
- Run Discipline and another Tanky Aura

This should EASILY get you over 8500 (Life+ES) and with the Curses, Helm, and Auras you will be incredibly tanky and shouldn't die. Your party will love you. You will still do considerable damage.

HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF CHEAP QUICK SWAP GEAR WHEN YOU WANT TO SUPPORT YOUR PARTY AND GET TANKY FOR A BIT.



THIS IS THE MAIN FOCUS OF THIS BUILD: Without changing the tree at all and only swapping a few pieces of gear / auras you can go EASILY AND QUICKLY from solo clearing t16's to supporting your party as a very tanky 6-8 curse / 2-3 aura CURSER


I hope this clarifies things for all the people that were trying to use my current SUICIDAL gearing to support their party ... LOL ... sorry for any confusion

Here is a common question I get about gear progression ; WHAT ORDER SHOULD I UPGRADE MY GEAR FROM THE BASE LEVEL ?



MY PROFILE IS OPEN IN METAMORPH SO YOU CAN FOLLOW ALONG LIVE AS WELL AS I SOMETIMES PLAY WITH THE TREE A LITTLE BIT FOR VARIOUS LEAGUE OBJECTIVES.

WARNING: This is a speed farming T16/MetaMorph GEARING where I intentionally blow myself up on the Metamorph with Cast on Death - GLASS CANNON - I can still switch gear to a more eariler GEARING to become more tanky without changing the tree.

GENERAL ADVICE ON CRAFTING A STAFF

I am adding this section because I am seeing too many people following this guide who try to craft a staff before focusing on the other more important upgrades in the build and then often end up using a staff that is WORSE than the Cane of Unraveling.

Start with Cane of Unraveling , it is less than 100c for a 6 linked perfect rolled one.

It takes over 10 ex to beat it and 40-50 ex to get a substantial upgrade.

When you save 50 ex saved and have every other item in your build perfected, THEN try to craft a better staff.

I recommend buying a 6 linked NON-WARSTAFFF , NON-CRIT base that is iLVL 86+ and NON-INFLUENCED.

Then you can spam abberant fossils or alt regal to hit the +3 chaos mod.

Then you can imprint and aug/regal until you get good mods. (another + gems mod or 100+ spell damage or suffix DOT multi)

Then you can use Beasts to gamble adding mods (Split, Pre to Suf, Suf to Pre, and imprinting)

Then you can multimod to complete. (Trigger and the CHAOS DOT MULTI PREFIX ... OR Damage and the DOT Multi Prefix)

After the multimod you can use Suf to Pre to gamble off the Multimod dead stat.

Then you can influence ex slam it for a conqueror suffix or traditionally slam it.

I have spent about 200 Ex crafting staves this league and have hit about 4 good ones.

TLDR; Cane of Unraveling is VERY STRONG and every other item in your build is going to add more Damage/Investment than trying to improve your staff.

Your CHEST, AMULET, JEWELS, WATCHERS EYE, HELM are all a much higher priority.

Your staff is the last thing you should invest in.

1. Which route do i take in the passive tree if i want to level alone?

2. Why do you take the minion notes on the left site of the tree, near the templar?

3. Whats does the timeless jewel give you and would you recommend getting one?

1. Go out and to the right first, finish in the Templar area , get surviveability nodes and jewel slots for resists eariler.

2. There is a node that makes all minion damage affect you as well as your minions in that cluster which is nice.

3. This timeless jewel gives be a spell damage boost, it is completely unnecessary, just something fun to get. Much more important is getting a Malevolence watcher eye with 20-22% multiplier to chaos.

What minions are we talking about here?
Couldn't see any in the videos, but with that much going on there i might have missed them^^

The DPS output seems legit, not sure, I have not done shaper a lot, what do you guys think?

Playing around with this staff is very interesting as the global mod applies to all spells.
