I've done half of my howework already!
Can you please look at todays listing of skill new gems? The awakened support gems have many improvements that go beyond simple "5% more damage" or "casts faster". E.g. the curse on hit gem this build uses allows now +1 additional curse.

That certainly necessitates a change in the build or at lease a mention.

It's on my to-do list. :)

The Curse on hit one looks obscene and I will be implementing that into the build eventually. The issue with these is that they are gated behind the end game content so I won't be able to really tinker with them for a little while. But at the very least the curse on hit will like look like this:

CWDT - Ball Lightning - Combustion - Awakened Curse on Hit - Enfeeble - Assassin's Mark

Ball lightning is a pet skill for me for the on hit recovery effects that I like to use. This can easily be either Purifying Flame or Wave of Conviction.

No, ball lightning is obviously the best skill for this application since it hits very often multiple nearby monsters. Best way to proc the watcher's eye +x ES on hit and also is most consistent for the curses and has a bigger range than purifying flame afaik.

thanks Gryphenprey for the awesome build, i did few test runs to get vd+des going, was workin out great, crafted 2 fire wands and was mostly one shotting as i went, just gotta try to remember to pick up every wisdom scroll to have enough alt shards to craft :D

gonna be one of the most solid league start for me since i started playing

Yeah the wands are very important for league starting. I also keep finding myself dropping spell cascade from VD for a while so that I can 1-shot packs reliably.

Let me rephrase my non-caffeinated half-asleep self's statement:

Wave or Flame can be used here if you are starved for sockets AND don't have any on hit recovery mechanics. Otherwise Ball Lightning is indisputably the best.
I feel like both myself and my computer are up to the task of taming this build. I've done CWC VD before which is okay but this seems to really take it up a notch and will do absolutely fine with the increased life pool of bosses especially when it comes to the Metamorph mechanic.

Any chance you'll have a POB (maybe leveling tree) up and running before the league goes live for CWC variation?
